Tough news for them. JHoward is pretty much a wild card on that team. Hope he gets better soon.

While there is still some soreness in the wrist, the ankle is preventing Howard from playing. He had minor reconstructive surgery on the ankle, which had bothered him since his senior season at Wake Forest in 2002-03.
The Mavericks are exercising patience with Howard. The priority is getting him completely healthy, not rushing him back into the lineup.
"It could be a while," coach Rick Carlisle said. "It could be weeks. I don't know. I don't know. We'll find a way without him, but we know we're better with him. When he comes back, we'll have to be ready to integrate him very quickly."
Guess it's good we got em early. Wish we could beat them at full strength though.

I didn't know that Howard had ankle issues for that long of a time.
I can better understand the reason for picking up Marion now.
Yeah same here. Only problems I thought he had were spraining it, but he has been like Dirk IMO and just has rubber ankles.
Guess the Rubber got stretched too far. Reconstructive ankle surgery. Damn never heard of that.
Still not even close to an easy win imo.
Definitely not an easy win at all, but Howard has been one of our main tough individual opponents in this decade, while Marion has been our ..so it definitely helps, although regular season is irrelevant..
Brandon Bass not being there anymore improves the Spurs chances 20 fold.
Oden, cant really talk. Glass Gorilla
I see Josh Howard getting traded before season's end.
Since Marion is sort of a replacement?
Yeah I can maybe see this happening
Stephen Jackson on the Mavs would destroy our hopes in the playoffs.
biggest over-exaggeration ever
Good news for the Spurs. They need all the wins they can get early in the season. J-ho is a Spur killer.
How so? Where's your reasoning? Do you even have a take? Or was that just a gut reaction response?
Are you another blind homer who doesn't realize he has both the capability to lock down the opposing team's top perimeter threat and the ability to drop buckets by the dozen during crunch time? Not to mention a grudge against a team that didn't think he was worth the money he makes?
You're a dumbass if you think that wouldn't be dangerous as to the Spurs. If I were management I'd make my best effort to keep him away from our rivals as much as possible, a la Yankees-Red Sox free agent deals. You don't let good players go to your arch rival if you can help it.
You did exaggerate at least a little bit.
Good news for all NBA teams but I don't like to see team winning games on weakened opponents. Think about last year when Manu was injured.
If it means making the road to the championship easier, i'm ok with it.
Dude, way to come off like an asshole.
Anyway, I'll take Gino over SJ any day of the week, and I'm a huge SJ fan. Even if SJ plays him to a wash, I think we have enough scorers to put up points. He's good, but you've got a little more fear of his game than is warranted.
Jackson doesn't change much IMO, he probably makes it easier for us, at least IMO..Josh Howard is just a huge mismatch against us for some reason, even when Bowen was in his prime..Jackson is good, but I don't see how he would be better than Howard in Mavs-Spurs matchups..he would be an upgrade against most other teams though..
howard will get traded if marion works well for them
I don't know why everybody keeps talking about Marion and Howard as compe ors..they're completely different players..I highly doubt Dallas will look at Marion as a Howard-replacement..if they do, that's clearly a mistake..
