Wow. Awesome.
Video: Nate Robinson shoots on wrong basket, D'Antoni snaps
By J.E. Skeets
Funny moment from Saturday's marquee Anti-NBA Finals game: 0.5 seconds left in the first quarter. New York Knicks inbound the ball to guard Nate Robinson(notes). The New York guard, for whatever reason, turns and purposely heaves a 30-foot shot at the wrong basket. Goes in. Cue hilarity and Mike D'Antoni mustache rage.

Sorry, but I can't link Tweeter video here...
With the Nets losing today, I see nothign stopping them from setting that record.
Denver, Portland, Sacramento, Lakers all on the road and then Dallas at home are their next five games. They set the record at 0-18 if they lose those five, which they should.
It's funny that Antoni doesn't get mad at players for blowing assignments on defense, not boxing out, not showing up to practice or taking contested 3's, but he gets mad at this.
I recall once Marion almost got the wrong basket at the beginning of the game.
D'Umbtoni.
Its only a matter of time before this cracker jack HC ends up back overseas coaching Euro's.
He traveled before he shot anyways, but what a dumbass.
"my bad"![]()
once they get healthy it wouldnt shock me to see them win 3 in a row making the record safe
D’Antoni: Nate not benched for shot at wrong hoop
By Brian Mahoney
Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni says Nate Robinson was not benched for taking a shot at the wrong basket Saturday.
The Knicks inbounded to Robinson in the backcourt with 0.5 seconds left in the first quarter of their 98-91 victory at New Jersey. Rather than just hold the ball, or heave one at the basket the Knicks were attacking, Robinson turned and shot at his own basket. The shot went in, but it was released after the buzzer and didn’t count.
D’Antoni yelled at Robinson on the court between quarters.
“When you’re 2-9, which we were at the time, I think any distractions are bad,” D’Antoni said Sunday before the Knicks played Boston. “If our whole focus is not on trying to win and turn this thing around, then it’s not right and it’s not something we want to do, and it’s just one incident and we’ll go on and we’ll see what happens today.”
Robinson played only six minutes all game, leading to speculation he was benched. But D’Antoni said he just felt other players, such as starting guard Larry Hughes, were playing better.
The shot was shown on highlight clips on TV and the Internet on Saturday night. Celtics coach Doc Rivers was asked if he’d seen it.
“Yeah,” Rivers said. “Interesting. That’s not my problem.”
Robinson’s occasional bouts of immaturity have annoyed the Knicks. When he was pulled over this summer in a traffic stop, he joked and complained about it on his Twitter feed while waiting in his car. But D’Antoni said they were “cool” after Saturday’s play.
“That’s something that Nate will work on and we talked about it and keep talking about it, but that doesn’t affect his playing time,” D’Antoni said.
THIS is why I love the NBA!![]()
How long til nate tries to choke Dantoni to realize he's too short and can punch him in the groin standing on his tippy toes at best?
- i think this is worse than not playing defense. this is pretty much GIVING them points. luckily the clock ran out for nate.
Sacramento is pretty horrible too. They're probably the only shot the Nets have at NOT setting that record. Otherwise they're toast.
Of course, it is in Sacto too.![]()
D'Antoni Starbury last year
D'Antoni Robinson this year
D'Antoni Unknown Knicks player next year
D'Antoni + Knicks = Drama![]()
Sacramento has actually been pretty salty. They're not playing horribly.
That's why Knicks lose so many games: they shoot at their own basket.
Maybe D'Antoni should have been more clear when he said "keep shooting, guys "
Nets shouldn't lose all five games, if they don't have Courtney Lee back, then yeah they should, but if they get him back and Harris plays and both don't get hurt, we can win. And if we don't win one of the 4 games on the road I'll just do what I do when I go to a home game wear the other teams jersey and the player normally gets hurt, that's why I stop wear Net Jerseys. Had a bad track record while wear Net players jerseys back in the dad I think it was Van Horn and Jayson Williams who both got hurt on the Nets when I wore the jerseys to games, wore a carter jersey to Orlando game this season and he hurts himself and can't finish now if we don't pull off a win i'll wear a Dirk and Kidd jersey and one of them is bound to get hurt![]()
I think your dad was shooting in the wrong hole when you were accidentally and regretfully conceived
who? The Nets? If that's who you mean I totally agree and not just because I am a Nets fans. If you watch a full game you will see the young players can be good on the Nets, we just haven't had a team yet this season because of people getting hurt or geting swine flu, for a while we only had Brook Lopez as a starter. T-Will is pretty good so I think he should help at times if Harris and Lee can come back fast we can score more. CDR is doing pretty well, I just hope he doesn't punch a player because he is pissed at losing, he's not very good at that losing thing
I think you have me confused with your buddy Dirk![]()
That reminds of the time Luke Ridnour almost sent the Spurs game into overtime . . .
