    TIES BROKEN FOR NBA DRAFT 2005 ORDER OF SELECTION


    Five ties among teams that finished the 2004-05 regular season with identical records were broken today through random drawings to help determine the order of selection for NBA Draft 2005, which will be held on Tuesday, June 28, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

    The drawings were conducted live on NBA TV earlier today at the St. Regis Hotel in New York by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President, Basketball Operations.

    The results of the random drawings:

    (18-64) New Orleans won a tie-breaker with Charlotte

    (33-49) Toronto won a tie-breaker with New York

    (34-48) Golden State won a tie-breaker with the Los Angeles Lakers

    (45-37) Boston won a tie-breaker over Memphis and Washington; Memphis
    then won a tie-breaker with Washington

    (59-23) San Antonio won a tie-breaker with Miami


    2005 First Round Order

    The teams entered in the lottery are as follows (note: the first three picks in the Draft will be determined by the lottery and the remainder of the lottery teams will select in positions 4 through 14 in inverse order of their consolidated standings at the end of the regular season):

    The Sanikidze trade turned out to be great. Viktor Sanikidze for a 59th pick.

    It's looks as though we traded the pick we got from Phoenix to NY. I guess we still keep the #28 pick. Nice, we've had success with that pick in the past.
