Garnett may be out; Rondo too?

PHOENIX -- Celtics coach Doc Rivers told reporters this afternoon that Kevin Garnett may miss tonight's game with the Suns, saying he was "questionable" and could conceivably miss more than one game.
"If I do decide to sit him, I'm not sitting him for one game. I can tell you that," Rivers said, according to a story first reported by Comcast SportsNet. "I told Kevin that."
Garnett had offseason surgery on his right knee, an injury that sidelined him for the entire playoffs last season. He was kicked in the knee Monday night in a loss to Golden State.
"It's early in the season," said Rivers, according to Comcast. "We got tonight and we got two days, and then we got three days after that. To me, if you're going to rest guys, this is the perfect time to do it."
Garnett missed last Tuesday’s victory over the Pacers with a bruised right thigh. He missed just one game, returning for the Celtics' win on Christmas Day over the Magic, but he suffered a hard fall with little more than a minute remaining in that game.
Rondo, who has a sore left hamstring, participated in the team's shootaround this morning, as did Garnett. Rivers said he wasn't certain if Rondo would play tonight.
The Celtics were already preparing to face the 20-12 Suns with a depleted roster. They will be without forward Glen Davis (sprained ankle) tonight, and Paul Pierce will miss his fourth straight game as he recovers from arthroscopic surgery to drain fluid from his infected right knee.

With Pierce, Garnett, and Baby Davis out, Amare should have his way tonight.
Thread le made it sound much worse than it really is.
By the same token.. the Celtics have not been very forthcoming about their injuries and the severity, so it's possible that this is more than we are being led to believe.
Same thing with the Lakers medical staff. 8 weeks turn into 8 months.
Celtics are breaking down..hopefully they're healthy when it matters..
I don't want to see the Lakers win a le by default again due to every other team having injuries..
So far this season has not been as easy as last year so you can still count on your prayers
Son of a ! Sadly I saw this coming. It looks like age has finally caught up with the Celts for good. I am not getting suckered into the severity of this injury being minor. After how they bull ted about KG's knee last year, I am not falling for anything Doc and Ainge say. Until I actually see him on the court, everything they say is blah blah blah.
Sour-grapes.
Kinda like you after Culburn got banned.
sup dr
Nice, I made House laugh..laughter is the best medicine for a broken heart..
Lakers fans are really scared to death of a healthy Celtics team. They should be, but it's still funny.
The injury isn't on the knee, btw.
Why do you always assume Laker fans are scared of a healthy Celtics team? I'm not. Bring the ers in green healthy and all. They're an aging team and that equates that they, like the Lakers, are not invincible. Sucks to see them deal with the injury bug, but all the major teams minus the Cavs have injuries going on. With that being said, it will be hard to beat PHX on the road with a healthy team...it exponentially got alot harder with all the Celtics out.
I'm not assuming. They write it themselves in this board.
And I still think they should beat the Suns. Enough quality for that.
The Suns are 20-12. Are you saying Boston is a 20-12 team without Garnett and Pierce (and possibly Rondo)?
Not good at all for the C's. I wish these dino's will stay healthy and get back to the finals.
No, the Suns are now favourites.
Yeah, well...I'm not one to think the Lakers should be afraid of anyone. What other people post is not indicative of a good portion of Laker fans. If we're fearful, then why even root for a sports team? That's just nonsense. If both teams are to face-off in the Finals for the 2nd time in 2 years--then so be it. However, like the old Spur(ic) addage goes, "It's only December."
The Celtics aren't going to be able to beat the Cavs in the playoffs anyway. This is the year for LeBron to finally get his ring.
Is Rudy coming back soon? If so, does he get solid mintues?
Why not? The Celtics won with Bynum and Ariza both injured. Injuries are part of the game. If you can't stay healthy you don't deserve to win.
