I love Disney when it comes to animation, but this awful franchise. The last one is easily the single worst movie I have ever seen in my life. Even the they watched on Mystery Science Theater 3000 was better than that garbage.
Johnny Depp Sets Sail on Fourth 'Pirates' Movie

Captain Jack Sparrow will soon take to the seas again, and this time he is after the most sought-after treasure imaginable: the Fountain of Youth.
It was announced this week that the fourth installment of Disney's highly successful "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise will begin filming in Hawaii this summer. Johnny Depp once again plays the flamboyant Captain Jack, and Geoffrey Rush reprises his role as his adversary, Barbossa. However, costars Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley are not expected to return.
The film's story is loosely based on the 1987 pirate novel, "On Stranger Tides" by award-winning fantasy author Tim Powers. The book tells the story of a young man -- coincidentally named "Jack" -- who is captured by the pirate Blackbeard and forced to join in the search for the Fountain of Youth.
Ted Elliott, the co-writer of the first three "Pirates" movies, said that the story of the novel just happened to align with where they wanted to take the fourth film. He told Empire magazine, "We wanted to do a story about Blackbeard and the Fountain of Youth, and Tim Powers wrote a book about Blackbeard and the Fountain of Youth... it just turns out that to do that story you would need that book."
Johnny Depp signed on to appear in the fourth movie in 2008, before there was a script. It was announced at the same time he would also be playing Tonto in a film version of "The Lone Ranger," but that project has been delayed until after "Pirates" is finished.
Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom have both said they had no desire to return for a fourth movie. Knightley said in an interview, "It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don't think I need to go there again. I think that it's done." Also, the director of the original trilogy, Gore Verbinski, will not be coming back. He is being replaced by Rob Marshall, the director of "Chicago" and "Nine."
"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" is scheduled to dock into movie theaters on May 20th, 2011. Johnny Depp will next be seen as the Mad Hatter in director Tim Burton's new version "Alice in Wonderland" coming this March. To see why he says the role is "a dream come true," watch the exclusive interview with him in the player below.

I wonder what's gonna be worse - this or Spiderman 4.
I haven't watched any of these movies. I haven't watched a single LOTR or Harry Potter, either. I'm not really a movie person though.
Never seen the series. Never got my attention.
You've got to be kidding me. You should have at least accidentally seen one of these by now.
Tough call...
I've seen bits and pieces of Harry Potter. It seems like it's always one right after a College game on ABC at some point every Fall.
i've only seen the 2nd movie. Really boring, but Depp's character saved some scenes.
This, by itself, would make the next movie infinitely better.
The first movie was amazing
the 2nd one was mediocre to below average
the 3rd, i still havent sat through
I agree with MiamiHeat. First Pirates was pretty entertaining... 2nd not so much... 3rd I can't even remember...
never seen any Harry Potter movies... isn't this a kid's series?
LOTR, for those who haven't seen any... you need to!
Don't understand the hating on part 3.
Can't wait for part 4.
I didn't like part 3 at all, partly because it made no sense, but mostly because Bloom and the blond chick's characters had gotten so obnoxious that I wanted them to get off'd. The fact that Depp is back but those two won't be is very promising. I think it'll be better than 3 just because of that.
I liked the Black Pearl and Dead Man's Chest. At World's End was long, boring, and annoying. I agree with Whisky Dog. Orlando "can't act my way out of a wet paper bag" and Keira "look at me! I'm a pirate girl!" Knightly ruined the 3rd movie, big time. If I never see that movie again, I'll die happy.
Part 3 was ridiculously long and had so many places it teased the viewer with a potential ending, only to drag on. I was paid to watch this abortion, but still wanted to run like out of the theater. I mean wtf? Those losers get married in the middle of a giant ing swordfight while the ship is circling some drain or some ? Come on, that movie was dog .
Eh, I liked all three and don't look at them as oscar movies or anything.
Fun, lighthearted good time stuff.
I'm lookin forward to it. Shame Knightly won't be in it, her eye candy is nice additions.
the first movie was funny.
the other two were not. That is why they sucked.
