But Billups is better at everything else 3pt, rbd, asst, ft%, and his team is winning.

At this point, you probably have to look at the Nuggets' superior team record.

it would be a shame if Kidd didn't make his appearance as a player on Dallas all-star game IMHO. and we've already seen enough newbies nominated all star this season, so even if Kidd didn't make it due mainly to his teammates impeding the vacant all-star occupation would definitely go to Billups rather than Aaron Brooks IMHO.

You could have just answered that Joe Johnson, Jamal Crawford and Josh Smith take more shots than Horford that he would not be able to bump up his numbers.

I think there is only one way to decide this. A game of 1on1, first to 21, for the last remaining All Star spot.

Most likely Billups gets it. Usually the vet will get the spot over the younger player. If Brooks continuies like his is (and I don't see why not) then he wll get an AS spot sooner or later.

Kid is playing great right now and I hope to see that continue even if he plays for the Rockets.

Does the replacement have to be a guard or can kaman or boozer be a replacement?

The replacement can be any position. Pretty sure it's Stern's decision. Billups would probably make the most sense. Denver has the second best record in the West and Melo is their only all star rep so far.

Billups would definitely deserve it over Brooks. Their numbers are similar, but Billups' numbers are almost all better than Brooks and he plays slightly fewer minutes. So, if Billups has been "bad" except for this past month but all his numbers are still better than Brooks, and he plays fewer minutes, and he's on the better team, Billups would deserve it more than Brooks.

    If not Billups, maybe Boozer.

Hornets: CP3 out indefinitely: Hornets' All-Star point guard Chris Paul is out indefinitely with a left knee injury that will likely require surgery. An MRI revealed more damage to the knee than the initial diagnosis of a bruise, Hornets coach Jeff Bower said on Monday. The coach refused, however, to confirm reports that Paul had a meniscus tear and would miss at least a month. "We're in fact-finding stages right now, gathering as much information as possible for decisions to be made to take the next steps," Bower said. "It is likely there will be a surgical solution for it. We don't have a timetable (for Paul's return) right now, nor do we know a surgical procedure right now."
    (Updated 02/01/2010).

already posted in the cp3 injury thread
