I got to my computer and noticed my monitor and tv were not on. I thought it was hibernating so I clicked a mouse key and moved the mouse around - nothing. I restarted my computer - nothing. Then I unplugged my comp monitor from my one month old nvidia driver (gt 220) to the drive on my motherboard - It worked. So I was under the impression that my video card had shut down cuz of overheating. When I first put it in, I couldn't leave the fan perfectly on top because a plug was in the way, so I put it a little to the side. Not noticeable. I have been using speccy to keep an eye on the temperature and it never went very high at all. Does anyone know if this sounds like my card is done, or could it have overheated? This happened about four hours ago and it wasn't working ten minutes ago when I checked.

i think its an overheating issue. the long term solution is to look at a larger case for your rig, but i don't know if that's the most economical route.

maybe purchase an aftermarket cooler? zalman makes some pretty amazing stuff for a decent price.

check the fan on the GPU, it may be clogged if you haven't blown out your case in a while.
