Portland Trail Blazers 96, San Antonio Spurs 93
    by Andrew A. McNeil

The Spurs had their chances. They had the game by the throat but were unable to finish the chokehold. That’s the difference between this team and former Spurs teams.

TNT’s Doug Collins mentioned it late in the telecast last night, and it’s been something I’ve thought about as the season went on. The Spurs lack the instinct to execute down the stretch and finish off their opponent.

There's not much else for sportswriters to reiterate. We have the talent and now we have the health; what we need is the cohesion, and on both ends. Whether or not that will come is still up in the air.

seems like san an leads through the whole game and then in the final 3 minutes, the other team surges and beats them by 3 or 4. why can't the spurs trail the entire game and then pull it out. they used to do that. i used to sweat out most of the games and then in the final few minutes, they'd pull it out. miss those days

Aldridge's left hand on Manu's body could technically be a foul too.

The players that keep suffering the most mental laspes on D are George Hill and Richard Jefferson. They just dont seem to be very alert, even more-so after stoppages.

This was one of the most frustrating losses I've ever been through as a Spurs fan.

Glad you weren't around for the '90's...
