Now go watch any NBA game where people play defense and see how many times people land on each others' feet.
after watching a lot of Bruce Bowen highlights he did place his foot underneath players a lot (intentional or not) and he he would do it against the the best shooters in the game............does anyone here think the league shut down Bruce by order of the supreme grand wizard stern?

Its call " if you shoot on me you gonna pay". And yea he tried to do it. He was the dirtiest player in the NBA, I'm just glad he was on the Spurs. He wouldve really hurt Tony & Manu. Lol
I'm just saying you think the league MADE POP sit him all last year and finally decided to get rid of him?
No, Pop knew something had to change. Bruce is a teacher an he felt he's to old to be starting a new team maybe.
Let's see if I can break this down for you. In "Championshipdefenseland," defenders' feet never stop moving, their hands never stop swiping for the ball, and their goal is to stick to their defensive assignment like a second shirt. If you're stuck to the ball handler like glue, and he (foolishly) decides to rise and fire anyway, where do you think said shooter will likely land? me, looks like he'll land on the defender every goddamn time. All this "Bruce Bowen was dirty" talk is the most utter bull I've ever heard. Here's a suggestion. Go down to your neighborhood Y, jump in a pick up game, and for once actually give a about what happens on D. Chances are, there's gonna be some contact. Chances also are, your opponent will shoot a poor percentage. Comprende?
Oh, and the league doesn't "make" Pop do anything. I'm not even going to go down that road with you.
Well he did do that but everything Bruce did was pretty much legal, he played position defense and with his amazing footwork Bruce always held his position once the shooter got into his jump shot Bruce would turn and box out and take over the spot where the shooter would be landing. I loved Bowens defense and his tenacity, the guy was as unigue and talented as any great scoring player yet because he played defense he was overlooked, the refs gave him superstar treatment on the defensive end for a long time.
Bowen was an old school defender that wasn't afraid to enforce when he saw the opportunity. He was dirty (just like most great defenders) but more importantly pesky, intense, and energetic on the defensive end.
Can you imagine if LA had a guy like Bowen do half of his highlight against injury prone Manu and other Spurs? We'd be begging Joey Crawford to eject him outta the game every time.
Oh, this is in response to the other thread that suggested Pop benched Bowen because he was mad. Should this be merged with Fabbs' Pop apologist thread?
looks fake![]()
he'd been doing that even when he played for the heat. i think if he was squeezed out, it would've been much sooner. this just kinda sounds like a conspiracy theory to me
Stern made Bruce old.
Diabolical!
Thats a fake dummy for a holiday prank.
it is fake. the homeowners were ordered by the police to take that down because it distracted too many drivers![]()
