There is a Kobe All the Time thread pinned at the top of the forum.
    http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144287

Please use that thread to post Kobe related thoughts unless iit's some huge news story.

This way, we don't have 10 new threads on Kobe every day.

There are 6 Kobe/disguised Kobe threads on the front page right now. Yall really love Kobe that much?

    Thankyou.

Phil Jackson is THE man,he's probably one of 3 coaches in the world who would've said that kind of criticism out loud.

Monta Ellis - a known ball hog, shoots the ball 7.5 more times per game than his next closest teammate

Carmelo Anthony shoots it 7 more times

    D-Wade...7 more times

    Kevin Durant 6 more times

    Lebron...6 more times

    Dirk...5 more times

Kobe Bryant shoots the ball 10 more times than his next closest teammate. The next closest guy in the league is at 7. freaking 5! It's not even close. And if that isn't staggering enough, Kobe...with Odom, Pau, Gasol and Artest happens to have the best teammates of the bunch. So despite the fact that he has more reason to spread the ball around than any other star scorer in the league, he still can't bring himself to do it. On top of that, the #2 and #3 shooters on Kobe's team happen to be significantly more efficient from the field than the Mamba.

Some will say that the Lakers are in 1st place in the west and the defending champions, and that is true and ultimately the reason he gets away with it. But I would counter than with the kind of talent the Lakers have - arguably the best frontcourt in the league and Kobe himself, they would almost have to TRY to NOT win championships and have the best record in the league (which they don't).

Is it any wonder his teammates are putting forth the effort they are in the last three games? no. They are getting the ball. They are involved. That will almost always translate into more effort all-around. I can't imagine how much fun they are having winning games AND spreading the ball around as of late.

wtf? stop these kobe bashing threads. the more contested jump shots kobe takes, the better.

if you think the lakers are good now, think about how much better they would be if kobe passed. it would be like replacing kobe with lebron james. this team is stuffed up the ass with talent. non laker fans, stop alerting the laker fan base to this problem. please let them keep praising kobe so kobe feels vindicated when he chuck shots. honestly, it's probably the only way to keep the lakers from repeating.

That is basically the truth though, the more Kobe tries to do too much without getting others involved--the more opportunities for other teams to wreck havoc on the Lakers. The last three games are a glaring look at how potent the team is when it isn't Kobe dribbling for 20 seconds, wait for the triple team to come, and then throw up a 20 footer. Which is, even if he was fully healthy, a low percentage shot. Now, the team doesn't feel intimidated that they're not going to get the ball and they're being active. The key is, and this is to blame both sides of the equation, to get both Kobe and the team working as one. If that happenes when Bryant comes back, well, I will live with the results.

Lakers also plays with a lot of energy on defense because of their involvement offensively. I mean, look at them go. Gasol is beasting in the block, Odom looked like an All Star and even Vujacic is hitting his jumpers and hustling out there.

You know the indication of something working when the corpse Machine becomes a viable option of the bench. I normally cringe at the likes of Sasha and Luke coming on the floor. They are my least favorite Lakers and I have been adamant that they need to be ex-communicated. However, I can't be loud about my disdain for Vujacic as the better half is a huge fan...

I would like to reiterate that the Lakers are not a better team without Kobe. Kobe just need to taper a little bit and recognize the talent around him. Kobe at 24ppg shooting just 18 FGA would be ideal for the Lakers deep and talented roster.

No doubt. I wouldn't want this Laker team without Kobe for an extended period of time. It's the times where he tries to do too much, tries too hard to be the hero, that is borderline annoying. Yeah he can do more to get everyone involved, but they have to be aggressive about things as well. Stand-up to the guy and demand that you get included in the plans. Reminds me of the saying he had after they got Gasol--I have bullets for my gun now or something along that line...well, then use the ers.

One thing I don't like hearing is this; Phil wanting to keep Bynum in the starting rotation. I would much rather see Lamar at the start of games. That is, until Bynum can prove to this fan that he is capable of sustaining some resemblance of defense intensity. However, I don't make the rules and will watch whatever unfolds...
