national guard gets called up for stupid like hurricane's and hippie riots in addition to being deployed to warzones. go reserve.
Can anyone tell me if there is any Benefit to joining Reserve over Guard or Guard over Reserve?? The only difference is one is Federal Funded the other is State Funded, other then that is there really any difference between the two?

one sucks and the other doesn't.
If you were wanting to do schools ( Airborne, Ranger, RSLC, etc) Reserve is better because Nat Guard get all their money from the state and they usually don't get money. However with National Guard, you can move where ever and change units if you move to different areas of the state or different state altogether. So if a unit in Arkansas is deploying to the Bahamas and yours is going to Egypt you could go move in Arkansas and possibly be able to deploy with that unit. I doubt you could do that with the reserves being as how you have more red tape to go through.
Sometimes the bonuses will differ with each state v. the reserves too.
this is true, but if the guard unit you are going into is a special unit (i.e. airborne, air assualt, etc) then unlike the other idiots trying to sign up in ait for that their recruiter sold them on but didn't get on paper you'll be promised that school from the get-go. although you would have to wear unearned like a red beret and get your ass handed to you by bull NCO's.
if you wanna pay for school, and possibly get a commission and make a career of it, go reserve. depending on your mos you'll prob get deployed once maybe twice in your contract, and most reserve units are a joke when it comes to standards up until its time to go over.
if you want a lifelong second job, also pay for school, but spend more time over here than there, go guard.
I guess she was too fat for you.......
