    Happened many times.

Its just people love to have this idea that he's Jack Haley.

Bonner is a good bench big man. Anything beyond that is overextending him obviously.

But as a guy off the bench, VERY valuable.

Indeed. Despite all the hate he gets, I am all for trying to re-sign him this summer. He seems to have found his role and as long as he is not getting overused or misused he really helps the team.

And about 90% of the posters on this site said Bonner can be very good off the bench, but not as a starter.

A lot of people said that if Bonner can play like this off the bench he is a great help to the team. I have no problem with Bonner getting some minutes off the bench when he is playing like this. If he is not then you limit his minutes a little bit. This has been a very good move to have Matt coming in off the bench.

I would like to see if he can play the same way against the elite teams, with some pressure and real defense.

I have nothing against Bonner its more the spurs' makeup and with the commitment to Blair they are really at a disadvantage against the more athletic shotblocking teams out there. Blair and Bonner offer little rim protection.

I guess every team has its advantages/disadvantages though and if Bonner shoots the 3pointers like he did tonight (or even close) that is an advantage that other teams will have to figure out how to counter as well.

Not really. He has only done it twice outright and he tied with Duncan twice. Warriors 2007, Rockets 2008(tied with Duncan), Celtics 2009(tied with Duncan), Utah 2009.

Matt was strokin it tonight. That behind the backboard high arcing shot was tremendous, I've only seen that a couple times. It's amazing how Clipper medicine does this team good. Hopefully some carryover to the upcoming games.

I was the one who laughed, and I still do because in practice he was shooting from behind the goalpost about 10 ft out of bounds

I think he hit a growth spurt, or he has a smaller twin because Fatt Bonner looked a lot shorter last season.

Agree, Bonner off the bench is very good. I just don't like him starting.

I hope the Spurs can re-sign him for a fair price this summer. It's always important to have a big that can shot
