Great win by the spurs, and it's on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. I honestly did not expect us to win this, so it was a pleasant surprise. Does this mean we really have some gas left in the tank?
Post Game Quotes
Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich
On the game - “I thought is one of the finest wins our team has had this season. I thought our team showed great and tenacity. I am really proud of the way our team hung in there tonight.”
On last shot of the game - “We wanted anyone but Kevin to take the last shot. He caught the ball and we made him kick it out to someone else.”
On Kevin Durant - “He is going to be a great player someday (Laughing). He is a franchise player. He is long and you get in his face and play that great defense and he scores it anyway. He has great demeanor and class. He plays with his teammates and makes them better. He is the real deal.”
On George Hill's game - “The last few games he has been deferring the basketball. We want him to be a killer. In the second half tonight he did that he was aggressive for us from shooting stand point and created a lot for us also.”
Tim Duncan
On the game - “Coming off the game last night that was a good of win we have had this year. To be disappointed last night and get this win was great. To be down fourteen and stick with it and stay with it and fight back that’s as good of a win we have had this year. Roger was huge for us tonight he came in and changed the game for us. We needed some offense, some of us were tired from the night before and he really helped us out.”
Manu Ginobili
On the last shot of the game - “I saw Durant catching and I went to help out on him. I prefer someone else take the shot. I took a little risk and we won. They had a wide open shot we are just lucky he (Thabo Sefolosha) didn’t knock it down.”
Scott Brooks
On the game - “That was a hard fought, great game. The intensity of both teams was very high. Our defense is back and that’s what I wanted to see in tonight’s game. Obviously, I would have liked to have come out with the win. Both teams played well enough to win. Unfortunately, they made a couple of shots more than us. I thought our effort was great and defensively we really got after it. They were hitting some tough shots early, but in the second half we buckled down and did a great job of making them miss shots. They just made a couple of more plays than we did.”
On the team's intensity - “I know it’s back. I know this is how we are going to finish off the season. Losing in this league is no fun at all. It’s a lot of work going with this much intensity every game. One thing you have to realize is that elite teams lose 20 to 25 games a season, and we are working our way to becoming an elite team, a team that is going to battle every night and every year. Not one person in that lockerroom is happy that we came in second tonight. The guys gave great effort and I’m proud of them. There is nothing to be ashamed of and we can walk out of this building knowing that we left everything on the floor.”
Kevin Durant
On his performance - “I try to play my hardest on both ends. I try to score the basketball and get everyone involved. On the other end I had to run around guys; chase (Manu) Ginobili, chase Roger Mason out and try to help my team out on both ends. I try to play hard for them and leave it all out there on the floor.”
On Thabo Sefolosha’s last second shot - “It went in and out. Everyone in this organization trusts Thabo (Sefolosha) with that shot. When they doubled me I was kind of happy because I knew he would have a wide-open three. It was a good shot but a tough loss.”
On bouncing back from last game's performance - “Last game we didn’t have anything; no energy, no effort, no sense of urgency but we had all that tonight. We just ended up on the wrong side. That’s something that we’ve got to learn from. I know there’s no moral victory but I’m proud of how bounced back. We didn’t bring anything from our last game and that’s something you’ve got to feel good about.”

i thought that hairston played as well against durant as can be expected---even though he was giving away alot of length---a lot better than the centerpiece---
i just hope pop figures out in time that ---more hairston & less bogans= better D.
