Bump!
Sometimes we rip our team. It's our right, but sometimes you have to sit back and realize that despite all the injuries and lots of new guys.....this team is still pretty good. I hope championship form returns at playoff time, but whether it does or not....I'm still watching.
Bump!
Manu hasnt looked this good in like 2 years, thats what the pessimists overlook. If he continues his great play once Parker returns this team can make some noise. Not necessarily a championship but theyll be more than capable of winning a series or two and be tough out for the elite teams. Theyre nowhere near as bad as people make them seem...its simply a case of spoiled fans and haters that have been waiting forever for this team to drop off from elite status that make things seem worse than they are.
I am absolutely loving Hill's play of late. He seemed to hit a wall around this time last season (for whatever reason), but if he continues to bring this type of game there will be no reprieve for opposing PG's when Parker has to sit.
Manu looks like his 2008 self. Things look good for the Spurs if this keeps up. Mavs are slumping, Nugz are injured, Spurs are finally gelling. Could get interesting.
Despite being on the downward trend the team is still fun to watch a lot of times. Ginobili and Parker are electric when they're not injured. Blair and Hill are two fun young and unique talents. Timmy is still capable of stepping it up when he's interested. Pop draws amazing out of bounds plays.
There's still so much to appreciate about this team, athletically lacking though they may be. I love my Spurs.
athletically lacking wtf you must of not seen malik play
Yeah because he has not played like this before in his life in non contract years..... Or has he?
That's totally different. Not like your other dumb post. It's not like Manu hasn't play well before and being in a contract year has nothing to do with it. Actually, his best year was 2005 after signing his extension and playing with Argentina.
But i see your logic, even though your hating glass.
It does suck when the NBA's international players get injured playing for their prespective national teams. You would think that NBA owners would push to have some clause in the players contract that would penalize them financially if they were injured in the off-season. But having said that, I can't knock Ginoboli, or any other foreign born NBA player who wants to represent their country in basketball. Its really a touchy situation IMO.
Contract year has nothing to do with it ? I beg to differ. It probably factored about 20%. The rest of the factors are probably just due to the rest given to him during summer and the conditioning of his body due to playing (first half of season)
While I like Manu and understand that his compe ive fire has fueled his recent run of good performance, his early season talk on his expiring contract makes me think that it does factor into him playing great now in a slight manner.
I hope Spurs can sign him up for next 3 years, with last year being partially guaranteed. That will be fair on both parties.
WTF cares?
Contract year or not---he is playing great---just appreciate it...
16 games this year decided by 7 points or less.
something is missing.
Manu has been phenominal recently.
They need Tony. Without him I do not think the Spurs will have enough firepower. With him, the Spurs will be dangerous for whoever they play. I am sure that LA wants no part of San Antonio in round 1, nor do the Nuggets.
I would love to see the Spurs eliminate the Mavericks in Round one!
We lost to the Nets and a heartbreaker to Atlanta in over time.
With just those 2 games as Ws instead of Ls in our column, we'd be 50 and 27 right now. Look familiar? Dallas is 50 and 27 right now and is 3rd in the west.
But, we didn't just give away those two games. There were a slew of games over the season that we lost that easily could have gone our way.
have you watched Manu for 8 years???
he plays like this every year-- every game. Pop just today said-- whether you gave him $$ or asked him to play for free-- he plays the same way
I knew when we blew that damn NJ game or Hawks game that would come back to haunt usSHYT I just knew it. We would be in first right now in the division or tied for it! We blew that last two on the rodeo trip too, we could be up two right now! Damn Spurs not taking advantage early of their weak schedule nor the Nets and Hawks game (Which they had won IMO), shyt just makes me even more pissed sides the fact we have been beastin lately.
Do us a Favor Spurs, go out and shock us tomorrow vs. the Suns then it's on again, we need to steal one of those games back and that would be the one to steal IMO!
