Spurs will win the game IF we have the Manu and Duncan from games 1-3... no doubt about it.
Considering my love for strategy, I have a theory on why Game 5 turned out so badly.
If I were Popovich, I would have loved to see what Dallas could bring out for Game 6. Considering that the Mavericks were playing for their playoff life, they would have had little choice but to show their best hand.
A couple of major changes made by Carlisle...
1. Haywood starting.
2. Dampier out of the rotation (DNP-CD)
3. Kidd was attempting to penetrate early and not get stopped outside the arc to initiate the offense.
4. Attacking the basket after Kidd's early penetration after the defense shifts.
(This is all I can think of considering I cant watch a replay.)
With this working to near perfection for Carlisle, he would most likely use it again for Game 6.
Now with Popovich knowing what will come, he will have some adjustments ready. If the adjustments he makes are good enough to throw the Mavs off balance, there is little else that Carlisle can do. It could quite possible cause the Mavs to go into a state of panic and beat themselves.
What leads me to believe this is the calm after the storm. I think the Spurs are confident Pop got the intel he wanted and will come up with something that will completely disrupt the Mavs' mentality (coupled with home court to make it a bit easier). I think Pop has something cooking and will truly shine in Game 6.
HOME CROWD.... HELP THEM OUT BABY!!![]()

Dude, we lost because Manu and Tim didn't show up and Caron Butler was unconscious.
Move on.
1. manu not looking to attack from start
2. TD rejected by dirk (did i really say that?)
3. RJ and dice were invisible
4. hill trying to play PG
sigh.
The Mavs apparently did an outstanding job of video disection of the Spurs' tendencies. Everything from ball-position in Ginobili's hands when he drives and tries to cut back left....to knowing who TP likes to drive and kick it to (drive right, kick back to the left wing). The Mavs were a step ahead of the Spurs Tuesday night.
San Antonio needs to be less predictable and more precise in their execution of plays. Finish your shots and bring the energy boys!
If you have ANY chance to win and close out a team you do it. You don't depend on the next game or using a game to formulate a strategy for the next.
All it takes to lose game 6 is no shows and a ref ing. Then it's game 7 and epic meltdown on ST.
Don't forget Mason sucking balls and the Blair, Bonner and Mason combo that that just about sealed a Mav win from the get go.
Is this a reverse jinx thread?
