Yeah that does suck. ABC is famous for that. And it always seems like ABC does it during crucial parts of the game.
What it this f'ing deal with the live shots from the baseline floor angle??? There is no possible way to adjst to even begin to figure out what is going on. Much less see anything. And they cut to them for like 6 or 7 seconds. Am I alone on this? Maybe they are good for selected replays but for live shots, they are as worthless as Matt Bonner.

I'm glad others can't stand it either. I feel like I'm suddenly a 3 yr old watching courtside.
Ditto. That angle sucks so much. It was always ABC trying to do some new camera angle BS but now TNT is doing it and it adds NOTHING of value to the game. It takes away big time for the amount of seconds they keep that low baseline angle up.
yeah, the camera work really sucks. Shooting from within the crowd around/over somebody's head. Supposed to be edgy, hand-held cinema verite? it sucks.
And showing closeups of fans, and players on the bench, with no corresponding commentary? WGAF about seeing some anonymous AZ trash fans other than other AZ trash viewers?
Yeah I couldn't help but yell at the tv yesterday because of this....why do we need to see the point of view of the popcorn vendor laying down in the aisle?
Good there are no floor cameras
camera angles suck as well as the ingame interviews with people while the game is going on. who the cares! get on with the game!
ABC announcers suck.
It's lame. They spent the money for the cameras and now feel the need to use them. It's absolutely terrible watching live.
If you want to use it to show replays or diagram plays, fine. But this needs to stop. It's not like we can watch the local broadcast anymore; which is basically what Phoenix is getting with Doug Collins.
I hate it...simply because we always miss a shot on offense or give up a bucket on defense whenever they go to that angle.
Good to know I'm not the only one who hates these stupid ass camera angles! Seriously who wants to see how the game looks from the floor or the ing ceiling...
Definitely not alone on this, I get extremely annoyed with these angles.
Next thing you know, they will have a mini camera on the ball and will go to that angle, go where the ball goes lol
you are not alone on this. call me weird or something but every time they do that the spurs make a bad play.. coincidence?
I actually really like that angle. It gives you a much better feeling for the athleticism and speed with which they play. Also it's much more realistic than an overhead shot -- you see what the players see. And if it's so bad, why are floor seats the most expensive?
And I don't understand the comment "you can't tell what's going on". If you were standing courtside could you tell what was going on? Do the coached sit 10 rows up so that they can tell what's going on better? Maybe if you never played basketball it would be confusing, but that's what it really looks like.
It's one thing if you're watching courtside and you've got a consistent view and you're able to choose what exactly you're looking at. It's quite another if you're watching it one way, then it shifts to a completely different angle and back to some other shot just randomly -- it's beyond annoying and ultimately frustrating.
I've got no problem with the cameras being used to show highlights, replays or anything else of the sort, but all the switching back and forth is ridiculous. They're using just because they bought the .
The angle sucks balls and I don't like it!
To be honest, I like it when they do that. As long as they keep the camera angle like that for an entire play and not switch it around multiple times during one play.
I dont care about the f'ing angle bring on game 3, bring on the tue damn suns< time to make it 2-1!!!!! Go spurs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Getting those end of the series excuses ready here folks?![]()
Well that is what the gripe is here. At least the angle I am referring to with ABC, when they go to that you can't see the whole court and have no way to see a play develop. As skilled as these players are and as fast as things can happen we need to see the whole court at all times. Not some camera angle that some genius thought would look cool during crucial points of the game. And while I don't like it at all, if they find it necessary they HAVE to use the damn thing, at least only use it in the first quarter.
Which is why seats 15 or 20 rows up offer a much better view of the game than do those courtside.
Frankly I wish they stuck to the one camera for the entire game and pulled out all the gimmicks, including colored commentators.
