Lakaluva, please let us know your side on the stance of Kashmir and the your opinion on nuclear use on the region in your countries dispute with India. As a bonus, would your please explain the importance of the Kashmir region to your country.

No opinion on the threats of nuclear war over scrub land that's rich in minerals? This could be great for your home town. Could even bring in a Fridays with the new riches.
The nuclear arms race in Asia started with India being afraid of the Chinese since the invasion in 1964. India felt compelled to build nuclear weapons to defend themselves from the Chinese and also from other world powers. With nuclear weapons, an invasion into India would not seem wise.
With India having nuclear weapons, the Pakistanis felt they had no choice but to do the same. The two countries have had 3 major wars since the par ion in 1947 including India invasion Pakistan in 1965. Plus, Pakistan has become allies with China with both countries disliking India. The two countries exchange weapons all the time.
The Kashmir issue started when Pakistan split from India in 1947. The British divided all the Muslim majority states into Pakistan and the majority Hindu states into India with the exception of Kashmir which is a majority Muslim state belonging to India. The Pakistanis believe Kashmir should have been part of Pakistan, but the Indians believe it should be part of India since most of the landowners at the time of the par ion were Hindus. The people of Kashmir at this point would probably prefer to be independant. That's not gonna happen.
