Now that Duncan is on the decline. Does his play bring tears to every other Spurs fan? I youtube the early 00's and late 90's and I see a player that just could not be stopped.

    Getting older sucks

My father told me never to get old and I did not listen... So it happens to the best of us.

My guess is that you're not old enough to remember a guy named David Robinson.

Everyone ages, it's only natural that their play gets worse (although he's still better than most of the players in the league) but lets enjoy him while he's still here because in a couple of years he'll be gone.

He did set a career high in rebounding and almost met it again this season. However a lot of those rebounds were off of his missed shots.

It does suck watching a great player decline but he's still one of the best overall bigs in the NBA.

Yeah exactly. Lets not act like Duncan isn't a top 5 PF in the league.

Tears? no, because its normal. players get older and go. But it does suck of course.

But im already glad I could see players like Duncan, their prime and following their careers, nice memories for the future. Same as with Robinson and Jordan, im glad I was part of that, that I was able to follow them and see them in that time.

Nope, no tears. I appreciate the player he is as well as the player he was in his prime. It's a joy to watch him play.

Tim Duncan is the ing man. David Robinson was the ing man before him. That doesn't change, regardless of age. I feel privileged to remember both of them in their primes during my formative years.

Although I'm not gonna lie--i'll probably be misty eyed when Timmeh finally hangs up his sneakers.

If he wanted to come off the bench he'd still have 5yrs left in him an he'd still be just as good as Gortat is now!

triggeredexcellence, this should serve as preparation for you in your life ahead, young grasshopper. It happened to that once-young, lithe Matt Bonner, too.
