A+
I don't really follow college ball, so past the first 6 or 7 picks, i'm lost. how'd the spurs do? james anderson on paper looks really good. and i def don't know anything about ryan richards
We drafted a domestic player that will make our roster, got great value for the pick, and potentially filled a need. Then we grabbed the Toros' main attraction for the next two years. Works for me.
Does Richards have to meet Mahinmi in person to claim the Toros' Main Attraction plaque?
I'm certainly not going to criticize the pick. Anderson is a fine, young player, decent scorer and a good shooter. He should fit the bill as primary backup for Manu. I was just hoping for a player with more length and athleticism.
I guess this spells the end of the line for either Hairston, Gee or both. Mason? Please!
Id give the Spurs a B+, but then again I don't know much about college shooters, I just know Anderson is a good shooter which we need.
Come on, we got a Big 12 Player of the Year. Before him were Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant. Anderson is a polished offensive player, a good shooter, which was what the Spurs needed.
and DX gave him a 9/10 on defense......
You really can't rate a draft until about three years later, but I'll give the spurs a B. You really can't have an A+ draft as a spurs fan because Robinson and Duncan set the bar very high but we'll see if this can turn into an A if Ryan Richard becomes something. James Anderson is a given. He will be able to score just teach him to play some D.
Anderson - A
Richards - B+
Overall: A-
I definitely think that a lot of intriguing players slipped and the Spurs should have been more aggressive in pursuing purchasing a mid-second rounder. Still, I can't argue with what they got where they drafted. Anderson fills an immediate need and Richards is a very intriguing big in a draft filled with project bigs. Plus hes young as and probably comes packaged with a damn cool accent. I'm not complaining at all.
A++++++++++++++++
There's really not enough +'s i can put because the Spurs are the best franchise in sports history, while the Mavs suck
Now THAT's a quality post! (No blue type necessary)
A-
Anderson's a solid pickup. I had a hunch it would be either him or Craig Brackins.
A+, that's what we need..A good shooter that doesn't have a name Roger Mason Jr.![]()
A for sure if you look at what picks we had and what was available.
Did anyone think, for a moment, when the Pacers drafted Paul George that perhaps, they had some pre-arranged trade to ship him to the Spurs, in exchange for George Hill?
It crossed my mind for a second or two.

No, but I did roll my eyes when I saw that no trade had been conducted. The pre-draft waters were incredibly murky this year.
i did....coz pacers already had granger....
That's one good reason. With Granger on the team, where will George play? Unless, of course, he plays shooting guard.
The reason I thought a possible trade was in the works was because the Pacers were so adamant and public about their desire to get rid of their #10 pick, in exchange for a PG. I was surprised they didn't find a suitable deal.
that missled me to think, that he culd be a lockdown type of guy.
how would you rank his defense?
if ne is a poor defender, I'd give us a B-, if he is solid its a B+ and if he is really good (I think, he isn't), it becomes an A
