I'm so ready for this to start. Gonna be good to pound on that Slovenian ass. I'll be thinking of Dragic as Jozy Altidore dances all over their defenders.

    Lets goooooooo already.

Take this time before the WC to enjoy and relish the anticipation, because once it's over it will be another 4 long years.

Yeah, I don't understand that . I think they should do it every 3 years. 4 years is way too long.

a WC every 2-3 years won't work for the European teams which are playing the Euro tournament every 4 years in June.

I don't mind the WC every 4 years because the Euro tournament is always really stacked.

You can make it work, just like they're making it work right now. 4 years is too damn long. I think football would be even more popular if the span between World Cups were shorter.

The qualification to World Cup and the Euro takes time (14-15 months). There's too many european countries.

4 years make it more prestigious than any other tournament (like the Olympics).

Okay soccer/football experts...my co-worker and former German national is so proud in his homeland's soccer exploits that he is betting Germany will win it all. Now, it's not a foolish bet when you realize we're betting only for a lunch of the winner's choice. I know it isn't much, but I did guess correctly on Spain winning the Euro Cup the last time and I won a gift certificate from him. Whom should I select in this friendly wager?

Spain is the best NT IMO right now, but they're like the Mavs of football: they tend to choke on the bigt stage. Still, these are not the same guys they had in previous debacles, and they are the same guys that won the Eurocup. They're the best but in footbal,l upsets are a lot easier to get.

    Short list of favorites:

    1-Spain
    2-Brazil

So what will be the terms? Victory or group position? I suggest which ever team wins - the loser proclaims the superiority of the other nation in his sig until the end of year, in case of a draw, the team that finishes higher in group is deemed the winner, unless the team is only higher by a virtue of a random draw.

BTW: Slovenia&USA will also play in group stage of the FIBA WC.
