why is there so much flopping in soccer damn they don't even be touching these spain players and they fall wtf is this
It was invented in Italy
I'm gonna sound like a hypocrite, but I'm ok with most bball flops because usually they seem to involve more personal risk of injury, whereas soccer flops are mostly fantastic acting.
Exceptions going both ways, of course, but flopping is far more egregious in the beautiful game.
It's because the refs fall for it.
If the refs stopped falling for it, then it would be stopped. They could also give more cards for flopping, i have only seen a couple of cards given against players for flopping.
You used to get a yellow card for egregious flops. I don't know why they stopped cracking down on it.
Idk either--it looked promising for awhile. More people seem to be speaking up about it, though.
Soccer players get legitimately hurt enough that they should never do that . I'm surprised so many of those guys are willing to swallow their dignity and pretend to be hurt at no contact. Selling legitimate contact in basketball is one thing, but one of the Brazil players threw himself on the ground in the box trying to draw a penalty shot and gave up a good scoring opportunity in the process.
well it's a culture now. Hard to get rid of it. I hate it, especially when it really affects outcomes of games. They should crack down on it somehow. For example, they should suspend players for blatant flops that affect the outcome of games.
I didn't see a whole lot of flopping in that game, there was a lot of contact all around. Don't know what game you watched.
you're such a ing homer. Both teams flopped like a mother er. The Torres flop that got Estrada the second yellow being the most egregious one.
That pussy Lucio pisses me off, the guy is a beast and he flops like he's been shot.
You don't know everyone
LOL Italy
A guy from Chile got a yellow card today because of flopping in the penalty area. What Spain game were you watching?
He does. Heinze in Argentina comes to mind also.
@ the Italy supporter defending flopping
lol Italy
But no one's flopping pisses me of as much as Lucio. Does he really have to roll across half the length of the pitch?
CP3 on pitch lol
They still do, but I agree there is a lot of diving/schwalbes and a lot of those are 'unseen' by the refs
That one was bad, but other than that it was a lot of contact with the usual embellishing. Everyone embellishes contact constantly, but to me true flopping is Di Rossi style no one touches you and you go flying. Today was a ton of contact that was embellished. Xabi Alonso almost got his leg broken with a nasty es high challenge from behind and Chile were tackling late and from behind all first half.
I'm a strong proponent of harsh punishment for flops like Torres'. The other day, Veron flopped almost as bad and I was ing livid. They need to start going through tape and suspending players that do it. I could understand maybe embellishing a little bit, but now its just outright unsportsmanlike bull . Cheating.
