Y! Sources: Drew Gooden agrees to five year, $32 million deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. http://tinyurl.com/26rcgmn
He's finally got a contract that makes him unattractive to other teams. Maybe he's off the carousel.
hoping this puts Richard Jefferson's contract to far from the Spurs
Well, you can trash Gooden as much as you want but during his time as Mavs he was really classy, also after it.
Bucks absolutly need a PF and size.
Drew Gooden had good rebounding numbers last year. Mostly due to missing consecutive layup-attempts, though.
Still, they must have err'd a little with the numbers. 32 years, 5 mil is much more feasible.
yeah Bucks screwed up. With the new CBA or lockout Gooden would take any deal over 20-25mio.
4/22, 5/25...they throw too much at him.
This move could go either way..
Milwaukee really needed a competent big man inside, and Gooden does give them a rebounder and post scorer..
However, they've got a serious number of high-usage players on the team now..Maggette, Gooden, Jennings, Bogut, Ilyasova and Stackhouse(if he returns)..I don't know how they're going to share the ball..
The contract is too much as well..

Scott Skiles never lasts long in any one place. Acquiring Maggette and Gooden hastens his exit from Milwaukee.
Stupid money, but the money aside, probably a decent signing because Milwaukee probably realizes they weren't going to sign any notable power forward. They probably overspent because they felt they needed to in order to get a decent power forward. Problem is that money for Drew Gooden is really, really crazy. Plus he's about to be 29 years old. If he were closer to 25 still, it would make a little more sense. You'd think they could have had him for something like 4 years and $20 million. But maybe they really thought they had to overspend to get him.
The first signing of free agency is always a headscratcher (see: Kapono, Jason; Carroll, Matt). This is no different. Yes, Gooden is talented but there are plenty of good reasons why he has been a journeyman the last few years. WTF could have changed between then and now to warrant this huge deal? I'd be shocked if Gooden had another offer for even half as much money on the table.
The Ducktail making his way back to the central division on an obscene amount of money too.
