Judd Apatow to produce Pee-wee Herman flick

Judd Apatow’s name has been tossed all round the web this week with news of old projects, as well as – get excited – new ones.

Apatow is developing a Pee-wee Herman road-flick that will follow the bow-tie wearing super geek on “a gigantic adventure,” Variety reported.

The “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Get Him to the Greek” producer will work alongside Paul Reubens, who created Pee-wee Herman back in the 70s, and Paul Rust to produce the film.

"Let's face it, the world needs more Pee-wee Herman," Apatow told Variety.

Apparently the world needs more Apatow, too.

Apatow’s cult classics, “Freaks and Geeks” and “Undeclared” – neither of which lasted very long on the air – have been picked up by IFC, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Freaks and Geeks” will premiere on IFC Friday at 11 p.m. ET., with an encore on Mondays and Sundays. “Undeclared” will make its way to the tube in the fall

I always like pee-wee and yeah I'll probably check this out.
On dvd of course.
