4 Life or 4 Ring?

Would you rather have your favorite/Franchise Player stick with the/your Team 4 Life [without a realistic chance to win it all] or have him leave/traded to win a ring elsewhere?

I'd rather have the star player leave and build the most successful Eastern Conference team since the Chicago Bulls of the 1990s. (re: Grant Hill s&t to Orlando for Ben Wallace and Chucky Atkins).

I've had both--Joe Dumars re-signed with the team after winning just 20 games. Grant Hill left after he failed to win a playoff series. It depends on the player, but as a rule, I'll always choose the chance at a Championship. But Detroit, so far, has made my choice very easy.

I see your point, but i think i is easier to let go if the franchise has already won something before.
Although i think KG probably left a couple years late. Just too much depends on the quality of your management. <sigh>
