Richard Jefferson and Raja Bell could both be getting close to signing with the Spurs.
Jefferson has been rumored to be returning to the team since opting out a few weeks ago, while it's widely believe that Bell will sign with the Lakers. However, the Spurs have more money than the Lakers and Gregg Popovich has long coveted Bell, which could be enough to bring him to San Antonio.

This is a copy from rotoworld, who took it from the EN's article by Monroe. He merely mentions that Bell is a possibility, as has been known for a while now, and says the spurs are still likely to re-sign RJ.

    Monroe's article: http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/s..._98387224.html

    Nothing new here.

I know a lot of you guys don't want Raja Bell. But that is exactly the type of player the Spurs need. He is a better replacement for Mason and the at ude he brings is what I have long coveted for the Spurs. He's been through playoff experiences and he can be one mean son of a when it counts unlike Mason.

I know he's old, but he's still a much better defender than Mason will ever be for the money. I still don't believe it will happen, but if it does, I will be very happy.

I like bringing back a discounted RJ and Bell, we need guys who will follow-through on their support roles and I think Bell will do that. We need a mean guy, he can do it!

He didn't mention talking to the Spurs in a recent interview. Here's the link and blip...

    http://sportsradiointerviews.com/201...his-offseason/

On how many teams he has talked to this offseason:

“We’ve been talking to a few teams. Orlando, Miami, the Lakers, and Dallas and it’s always kinda been my thing where I have to wait around and see.

I wouldn't mind Bell on the Spurs. He does remind me of a Mario Ellie, but not as big. He seems like he would fit right in. We'll see. Kobe was suppose to meet with Bell to try to recruit him to the Lakers. That would be pretty scary having both Bell and Artest on the same team.

Raja Bell can be like 1999 Mario Elie, I guess.

Or a shorter version of Bowen.

Bell would be a good fit. He is not bruce but he is definitely a better defender than anything we have. I know people love Malik and the young guys but are these guys really going to help us win a 5th ring. IMO, I feel a lot more comfortable and confident rolling with guys like Bell.

He's a good shooter as well. He doesn't shrivel up like Mason in the playoffs, which is what the Spurs need.

I don't think he's ever been near Bowen's level, defensively.

Bell's a great defender (or at least he used to be) and he has a winner's at ude. In that respect, he's an immediate upgrade over Bogans and Mason and thus worth it, IMO.

But the ghosts of Bowen and Horry will continue to haunt the Spurs. Bonner, Bogans, and even Bell just don't cut it!

Never been a big fan of Bell because he seems a little dirty, but i'm sure non-spursfans weren't big fans of Bowen so maybe I can learn to like him.

Raja Bell is going to be on the Scott Van Pelt show to talk basketball (show is on now, I'll let you know if he says anything about what teams he is interested in playing for)
