assuming players are at the level they played when on the Spurs. so you can't pick Wilkins in his prime.
Honestly, I don't know much about the Spurs before Gervin.

PG - Rod Strickland / James Silas
SG - Alvin Robertson / Derek Anderson
SF - George Gervin / Willie Anderson
PF - Jerome Kersey / Kurt Thomas
    C - Artis Gilmore / ?????

Until putting it together, I thought it would be a toss up. But I think the current Spurs team would be too much.

Rodman Final season with SAS - 1994/95

    16.8 TRB
    7.1 PPG
    2.0 APG
    57 FG%
    67 FT%

Deserving of a starting position. This allows you to move the bigs to Center and makes this matchup far more interesting.

Also Power Forward/Small Forward Terry mings 1988/89
    22.4 PPG
    8.4 TRB
    47 FG%
    78 FT%

...I forgot about Rodman. He was great on the Spurs. Good call on Terry mings.

Scratch Kurt Thomas and Kersey off.

Larry Kenon must be on this team. No way around that.

I'd also find a way to add Johnny Moore and Mike Mitc .

But they'd still lose to this current Spur team, imo.

    Good thread

Yeah TC would start at power forward, no doubt.

Yup, 2011 was a sick team. Ginobili broke his elbow. RJ disappeared in the playoffs. Mcdeyess was a better Boris Diaw, but faltered. Memphis made every shot and played out of their mind.

2011 has a younger Tim, Tony, Manu, RJ and Mcdeyess--savvy vets playing at a high level and George Hill. They'd beat 2014 Spurs.

No. The ball movement and shooting display the Spurs put on this post season wouldn't have been beaten by an inside out team.
