Best Signing Lebron James, Miami Heat
A little obvious, but it's because it's true.
Best GM: Danny Ainge, Boston Celtics
Ainge could've easily have lost his nucleus this offseason. But instead he pursuaded everyone to stay and added the two O'Neals.
Best Trade: Darren Collison and James Posey for Troy Murphy, Indiana Pacers.
A star to play alongside Hibbert and Granger. Fantastic news, especially with all the cap space coming up.
Best Draft Pick John Wall, Washington Wizards.
Hey, it's the Wizards. They might've taken this year's version of Kwame Brown number one overall. Good for them.
Best Coach Hire: Byron Scott, Cleveland Cavaliers.

Worst Signing: Travis Outlaw, New Jersey Nets.
Worst GM: Bryan Colangelo, Toronto Raptors
He lost Chris Bosh before Lebron James joined Miami. He then signed Amir Johnson to a 34-million dollar extension, ripped Bosh in the media, traded Hedo Turkoglu, and got his ass chewed by his former Turkish player.
Worst Trade Collison and Posey for Ariza, New Orleans Hornets.
Worst Draft Pick: Derrick Favors, New Jersey Nets.
He has bust written all over him.
Contract Most Likely to be bought out: Amir Johnson, Toronto Raptors.

Why is New Jersey's signing of Travis Outlaw a bad move? Did they overpay for him?

LMAO son wtf you talking about the Hornets having the worst trade? we don't need Collison as long as we have Paul. all we need at the PG position is someone who can halfass control the court for 10 minutes a game while Paul rest. Posey has been the biggest flop signing since Peja. he has done absolutely nothing for the Hornets and will continue to decline.

we improved our starting lineup tremendously by adding Ariza. he is no superstar by any means, but is a very solid SF who can play both sides of the floor which is something we haven't had at that position in years.

Signing a young Travis Outlaw, although overpaying, is not the worst signing. Drew Gooden was perhaps the worst of the bunch. LMAO, you hate the Nets or what?

Best Signing Lebron James, Miami Heat
A little obvious, but it's because it's true.
    Best GM: Pat Riley, Miami
Not only did he sign Lebron and Bosh, but he put guys around them that surpassed everyone's expectations.
Best Trade:This one would obviously be Lebron and Bosh for TE, but in the spirit of not giving everything to MIA, I will go with the Randolph/Azubuike/Turiaf for Lee trade for the Knicks.
Got rid of a good player in Lee that was going to be over paid and got some nice young pieces that will fit well.
Best Draft Pick James Anderson, Spurs. With regards to value and perceived talent, this pick (with all players being unknown) seems like it could be the best value pick of the draft. [I]
Best Coach Hire: Avery, New Jersey. He had a successful run with the Mavs and it will be interesting to see how he does with a blank slate. He has some serious pedigree for a young coach and he should install some fire into the young players.

Worst Signing: Richard Jefferson, Spurs. Bad fit, older, tons of money and does nothing to help them win.
Worst Trade Hedo for Barbosa, Suns & Raptors. Two suck players in a trade that pisses both sets of fans off. Well done.
Worst Draft Pick: Gordan Hayward, Utah
He has bust written all over him.
Contract Most Likely to be bought out: Posey.

    Best signing: LeBron James
    Best GM: Pat Riley
Best trade: Disregarding sign and trades, this one is the Utah Jazz trading their TE + Koufos + two 1st rounders for Al Jefferson.
Best Draft Pick: DeMarcus Cousins at 5.
Best Coach Hire: Byron Scott for the Cleveland Cavaliers

Worst signing: Amir Johnson for the full MLE
Worst GM: Bryan Colangelo (Good work ripping Bosh in the media, LMAO Hedo busting your nuts through the media, lol no one wants to stay with the Raptors)
Worst trade: Hedo Turkoglu for Leandro Barbosa + scraps ( trade which does nothing)
Worst draft picks: Ekpe Udoh at 6 and Gordon Hayward at 9 (Good job, Warriors, fail again. Good job Utah, when in doubt, always pick the white guy.)
Contract most likely to be bought out: James Posey

I don't disagree with Colangelo as the worst GM, but trading Turkoglu wasn't a bad move at all..Raptors fans were happy about it, Turkoglu was happy, Toronto got rid of his horrible contract and mediocre talent, everybody wins..except Phoenix..

Amir Johnson has a lot of potential, and he's currently a solid and improving role player..Colangelo overpaid, but it's definitely not the worst signing..Gooden and Jefferson are much worse, off the top of my head..

RJ's is probably the worst contract of this off-season..

Best signing is LeBron best contract signed was Splitter. 3 years 11 million for the best player not in the NBA is a of a deal.

Worst signing was Amir Johnson's large extension. Not likely to turn into anything more than a solid role player, which he isn't at the moment and he basically puts up the same stats as Lou Almondson who will get a lot less money when he signs somewhere.

Best trade: The bull that the Jazz pulled off trading some picks, a scrub and an exception to Minny for a young 20/10 player in Al Jefferson.

Worst trade: Damp and Carrol for Chandler and Ajinca. After all the hype about what a great trading chip Damp was it turned into a salary dump of Carrol's contract. You can argue that Chandler is better, but when you start messing with bones in the feet it is a red flag.

Best draft night deal: Cole Adrich to the Thunder. This is an under the radar move because Alrich isn't exactly a sexy pick nor does he have All-Star potential as it seems. But he is the combination of size and youth that makes him fit into the Thunder's style. It is the perfect situation. Alrich just needs to work on his defense and athletic ability, pick up a couple low post moves and he'll be the piece the thunder are missing.
TC will turnout to be a good signing IMHO. when he's fully fit he's a top player at his position, which will give the Mavs a big advantage over the opponents who only have dip bigs (like Miami Cheat particularly). even if TC struggles to maintain health and happens to miss considerable games, it would still be an easy job for Mavs to soothe it because they have another legit center in the form of Haywood.

When TC and Haywood both are available for match, they may also be simultaneously used on court as twin towers, which can be a nightmare for the soft teams. Softness used to be the Achilles tendon with the Mavs but it has been healed with the arrival of TC, does it still look a bad signing?

Having lost the hope of getting Lebron, there were still other decent targets available but most of them would have been surpluses to Mavs squad. Joe Johnson might be acquirable but he was not the significant change the Mavs sought, knowing that they already got redundant forward/guards on squad. TC was at least one of the bests in market at the time and there were many other teams having shown interest in him, so IMHO it wasn't a bad decision to wrap him up before another team managed to gazump us.

A healthy AJ is a 20/10 caliber center with no doubt but IMHO the health of AJ is more of an issue than that of TC. Only time will tell if this trade is really good or bad, and at this point of time this trade looks highly questionable to me TBH.

The Turkoglu trade if by far worse than the Ariza trade. Turkoglu offers the same production for twice the price and he is way older, too.

18.8 ppg (.485, .429, .852) 9.1 apg, 3.5 rpg, and 1.4 spg in 37 starts for the New Orleans Hornets as a rookie.

Chauncey Billups (2001-02): (82 games, 52 starts), 28.7 mpg, 12.5 ppg, 5.5 apg, 2.8 rpg, and .8 spg. Started in-place of the injured Terrell Brandon.
Darren Collison (2009-10): (76 games, 37 starts), 27.8 mpg, 12.4 ppg, 5.7 apg, 2.5 rpg, and 1.0 spg. Started in-place of the injured Chris Paul.

While I'm not going to downplay Collison's talent, I have to say that the Hornets were a much better team with Paul starting than with Collison. People look at the numbers and think that Collison made Paul inessential, but that wasn't the case.

I don't think Collison was a star. He was given the green light to showcase his talent in a team depleted with injuries and chemistry (mainly due to CP3's injury).

By that logic, Billups never earned it with Minnesota and that is why it was a good idea to let him sign in Detroit. Kurt Warner should've given back his starting spot to Trent Green after being Super Bowl MVP. The same with Tom Brady in relation to Drew Bledsoe? People take advantage of the opportunities before them. He was a player on the team and he stepped up when he was needed. Would it have been better, said more about him, if he put up 5 points and 5 assists, but won 23 of 37 starts instead of losing 23 of 37?

I'll tell you what--there's mourning on one of the Pistons boards I go to. They think we could've gotten Collison because we have Prince and Villanueva who do basically the same thing.

Right or wrong, this guy was sought-after.

Best signing: I'd normally said James but the signing which matters the most is Boozer imho.
Best GM: Danny Ainge - he manages to keep the C's compe ive
Best trade: Lee for Randolph, Azubuike and Turiaf
    Best Draft Pick: John Wall
Best Coach Hire: Byron Scott for the Cleveland Cavaliers

Worst signing: Amir Johnson for the full MLE or Channing Frye or Matt Bonner
Worst GM: Gotta be Colangelo - can't believe how he fell from best GM to worst so fast.
Worst trade: Chandler for the three Mav dudes... good for the Mavs but bad for the Bobcats.
Worst draft picks: Might be Turner
Contract most likely to be bought out: James Posey

Billups/Collison is really a dumb comparison to begin with.

At you losers giving each other meaningless awards. We were the best team by far, we got better by a lot, and as far as I'm concerned, you all can eat and frogs.
Yeah, I'm sure you'd posted that if the lists would have included Barnes, Blake or Character.
