Union Drops Health Coverage for Workers’ Children

The union that help make Barack Obama president is dropping health coverage for children because of Obamacare — which the union pushed. Covering kids until they are 26 is too expensive, so it will not cover kids at all.

Now comes word from the Associated Press that health premiums will be taxed. This will drive those costs up.

So instead of covering more children, fewer will be covered and instead of reducing health premiums, we are going to tax them.

    Who knew? I did.

I'm still undecided on healthcare reform. The goal is to obviously cover the greatest number of people for the least possible cost. Can anyone point me in the direction of a comprehensive book that addresses the situation? The more apolitical the better. Just looking for facts. I can read the bill, but not being an expert, I like for the experts to analyze proposed policy for me.

    Thanks.

Yoni isn't interested in the kids. He just wants Obama to fail. He can hardly contain his excitement for what he thinks is a win.

The SEIU kids would still have insurance if not for Obamacare.

America cannot solve it's healthcare ripoff scam.

The for-profit health industry controls the game, controls the legislators, to protect and increase their profits. The care of people is a distantly behind profits.

The health care plan was distorted, perverted, compromised to satisfy profits.

THERE IS NO SOLUTION. America is so ed.

Repugs talk about lowering costs, but what they really mean is that the costs are the fault of people using too much health care, the "gold plated" health care plan, which is a meaningful as every welfare/unemployment benefits user being a Cadillac-driving Welfare Queen. iow, it's always the fault of the individual, NEVER the fault of the
    "victimized" corporations.

Repugs real "cost control" is for people to use less health care, for health care to treat fewer sick people. Like any product, the Repug goal is to supply the cheapest, minimal, tiest product at the highest profit. Who wants to sell used cars for $500 profit when you can sell German imports for $15K profit?

Raising the children's coverage age to 26, as we can see here, was just another ploy increase the industry's profits, while driving people away from insurance companies.

America simply cannot solve its problems. The solutions are always worsen the problems and fleece citizens to the benefit of business.

Aren't the state mandated changes a reflection of how the law affects their budget?

    Keep spinning...

"when you interfere with the free market."

there aren't any free markets in health insurance (local monopolies for non-employees, one or two choices for employees) or finding a doctor.
