Let me say this ... I hated his dirty ass
and when he questioned Magic's return i hated him even more.
then we got him ...and much like when we signed Rodman still disliked him but he wa sin purple and gold so i bit my tongue.
But watching him even as an old man for 82 games ...his passing, bball smarts and toughness was amazing.
Grreat player.
Is he the all-time best PF No. and here's why:
1. ringless you cant be GOAT at any position ...ringless. Sorry.
2. though he had moments he seemed to shrink in some of the bigger moments. No disgrace kobe, MJ and Magic all have had some crappy Playoff and finals games but when you add that with#1 ...
duncan gets my vote (but it IS debatable if he is even a true PF )... cuz of rings, clutch factor ...
if you exclude duncan and dont count rings I think he gets nod over KG and dirk though not duncan still in my opinion ...but it IS a great debate ...
I think Duncan's better. But I like to rile spurs fans by calling him a center. The funny thing about Spurs fans is that they want it both ways. Any discussion about the greatest center and they're going to include Duncan. Any discussion about greatest PF and they're going to include Duncan. They need to make up their minds.
1 more thing ...he could of easly hung on and kept chasing a ring and/or Kareem's record.

Being ringless excludes him as all-time great PF ...but he gets cool points for not hanging on ...
To me the funnier part is when there was great centers the FO fought to keep him at PF (all-star and ALL-NBA designation) but when centers becaame sorry the push was to hve him at center ...
either way duncan in my years of watching is a top 3 center or #1 PF either way he is an all-time great ...so it doesnt matter.
