Sources indicated a one-year deal could be reached within the next week to bring Boykins back to the Bucks for a second time. The 5-foot-5 guard played last season with the Washington Wizards and appeared in 67 games while averaging 6.6 points and 2.6 assists in 16.7 minutes per game.
Boykins, 34, has played for nine NBA teams in 11 seasons. He was a popular player with the Bucks during the 2006-'07 season after being obtained in a trade with the Denver Nuggets.
The Bucks needed help in the backcourt that season after injuries sidelined Michael Redd and Mo Williams. Boykins stepped in and played in 35 games, including 19 starts, and averaged 14.0 points.
Boykins hit two free throws in the final second to help the Wizards beat the Bucks in a game in Washington last season.
Following the departure of free agent Luke Ridnour, who signed a four-year, $16 million deal with Minnesota, the Bucks signed veteran Keyon Dooling as the primary backup to point guard Brandon Jennings.
Now the Bucks will have two veteran point guards to assist Jennings, who will be starting his second NBA season after helping lead Milwaukee to a playoff berth last season.

They got Earl Boykings,Keyon Dooling ,Corey Maggette, Chris Douglas Roberts, Drew Gooden and John Salmons all this offseason
If Bogut stays healthy this team will be great. And Imagine if Redd could actually stay healthy :eek:

Boykins sucks.
Look at the big picture.
The Pieces they added to help out Bogut and Jennings
When used properly, Boykins is a mini magnetron...
I see the big picture and proclaiming greatness because of Boykins is silly. Their off season is what it is, and adding Boykins does nothing but slightly detract from it.
They have a bit of a log jam at SF, but they should have a decent team.
Awesome. Watching Boykins midget around is always hilarious. They should play circus music while he's on the court.
Not to mention they added Keyon Dooling to play in the backcourt also.
And having a veteran point guard is never a negative on a young team in my opinion
He probally wont see alot of minutes with Dooling though I think it's more of a saftey in case anyone gets injured
This team is way too overloaded on the wings and not nearly deep enough at center.
As for Boykins, he makes sense as they lacked a third PG and there was slim pickings available.
This move likely means Gallon is headed to Europe.
Never mistake quan y for quality. The Bucks off season contained both, but more of the former than the latter. As much as they strengthened and deepened their team, they're probably still headed for the sixth six and a first round ouster at the hands of the Celtics. They're good enough to make it a hard fought series, but still. Short term, they're most likely not good enough to win a round. Long term, they don't have many players with a high upside, so they're destined to be good, but not good enough to do anything of consequence.
