Just read on the local papers website- Jay Howard was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer in mid July- However, prognosis looks good.

Just found out just over a month ago my grandpa has cancer in the kidney. That's why I've been living here in San Antonio again temporarily. Unfortunately his has also spread to his bones throughout his body and he has a broken hip because he fell while his bones are so brittle and he still isn't able to walk. Thoughts and prayers go out to Jay and his family.

Bill Schoening (sp?) is great, but to me, Jay Howard will always be the "true" voice of the Spurs (hence my username). Loved listening to him growing up. Thoughts and prayers for him and his family.
cancer will kill everybody if we dont demand answers thats why im tired of this bull where the cancer foundation raises billions of dollars only to shoot you up with chemo and and tell ya "theyre right there we almost have one!" bull there are probably a few ways to cure cancer, why is it the big wigs in washington never die of cancer?? no presidents? so they can grow additional limbs, now recircuit your brain to smell with your eyes and see with other senses but they cant cure cancer?? if you buy that bull maybe you guys should research what feeds cancer cells and its actually not rocket science
im sorry for the rant ive had very close friends die and its disgusts me to know theyre not doing more i feel so sorry for this man and many others who did nothing to deserve this sick mutation and its even more disturbing to find out that people believe what theyre told about cancer research. its just so sad that all of our friends/family are dying from this and theres nothing more than poison to help
i researched "cancer" (a very specific one, they all are) and you're wrong in a lot of ways that i'm not going to try to explain to you

I kind of agree w/Leonard on this issue. I feel as though there are a lot of things the government keeps us from knowing, but that is besides the point here. If you wanna debate about whether there is a cure or not then I suggest going to the political forum.
This thread was to advise people of a former Spurs radio announcer being diagnosed with cancer. I feel bad for him and it sucks. I pray that he beats it.

i know this is spurs talk but you know what its the offseason so...
ill give you the very basics in cancer (malignant) growth. everything is acidotic when it dies do you agree? well in this planet anyway okay now that means cancer itself is a mutation "retarted cell" and theyve found that cancer thrives in low oxygenated environments and it feeds on SUGAR !!! you see cancer isnt a disease, its the basic laws of life our cell is trying to thrive in terrible conditions thus mutating itself to live!! just like everything else in life. mind you this is very basic and its not this simple, but if you keep the blood acidotic and arent told to change your diet then how in the do they expect you to get better?
because you keep feeding the cancer its food, now why is it so hard for doctors to understand that allowing pt's (patients) who have terminal cancer to drink coca cola/ice cream (whatever they want because of what? chemo?) will feed the cancer and allow it to grow further is beyond me!!! why is it when i research and question where my "foundation" money goes im painted the crazy one? youre the one thats uneducated go educate yourself and prepare to be furious. people beat cancer all the time, there are alot of variables but the biggest thing to do when fighting cancer is change your DIET its critical as well as Praying even scientist who believe were new monkeys have found prayer to be an amazing weapon in fighting cancer. why? maybe because your mind is at ease thus increasing your ph balance or maybe its just jesus healing your body thats for you to decide.
there are different things you can do that will help you increase your chances shoot maybe all three. Diet is the main thing no processed anything, check with your doctor but if you research buffers and baking soda it could really help you keep your blood alkalotic thus starve the cancer and thats the real key to defeating this horrible situation. i pray for everyone and their families going through this, its awful

Cancer's such a terrible thing. Just found out today that my grandpa's cancer has spread rapidly to his lungs and they're giving him 1-2 weeks but we should find out a more accurate date tomorrow. Losing someone you love is the worst feeling in the world. Cried so hard tonight my ribs hurt.
