David Hendricks, San Antonio Express-News: USAA Real Estate Co. has partnered with Spurs great David Robinson to invest in commercial real estate across the country and to create a profit flow for charitable purposes. San Antonio-based USAA Real Estate will invest up to $50 million in an agreement to match what the NBA Hall of Famer's Admiral Capital Group raises for the newly formed Admiral Capital Real Estate Fund. Robinson's Admiral Capital Group is investing $6 million and is raising additional investments from third-party investors, including San Antonio billionaire B.J. "Red" McCombs and the Spurs' main owner, Peter Holt. Other third-party investors so far include Sirius Computer Solutions chairman and CEO Harvey Najim and Covenant Multifamily Offices, both of San Antonio. When Admiral Capital Group and USAA Real Estate reach a total of $100 million, the limited partnership intends to leverage another $150 million in debt to produce a $250 million fund to invest in office buildings, shopping centers, apartments and hotels. The partnership will spend between $25 million to $100 million per investment.

This kind of stuff has made it easy to be a Spurs fan. From his service to his country through his career and now his service to humanity, combined with his humility, David Robinson is who kids should aspire to be. Not Lebron.
