Steve Francis arrested at Los Angeles Airport
Kurt Helin
Thursday night, three-time NBA All-Star Steve Francis was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Francis was taken into custody about 10 p.m. by airport police for resisting arrest, officials said.
He appeared intoxicated and became boisterous at one of the ticket counters, officials said. He was released after posting $10,000 bail early Friday.
Francis was the 2000 Rookie of the Year in the NBA and went on to play in three All-Star Games with Houston, although he was on generally poor teams that made the playoffs just one time. He also played in Orlando and New York. There had been talk of Francis playing in China but that did not come to pass.
doesnt he have a sad story while he was drafted? besides asking for a trade on draft night?
Damn..this guy totally screwed up his own career with his I'm better than you at ude. He should have just shut up, worked hard and played off the bench but he refused to play unless he started aka Iverson. Plus dude seems to have a drinking problem. Even though he's friends with Yao, not sure that that will save his career playing in China with the Sharks. Yao might not let him after this.
What a waste of talent, really.
What could have been if he wasnt such a .

LAX police: Steve Francis arrested for being drunk
Los Angeles International Airport police say three-time NBA all-star Steve Francis has been arrested for alleged public drunkenness.
Airport spokesman Albert Rodriguez says Francis was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Thursday because he was intoxicated, unable to care for himself and combative toward staff.
Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department records show Francis posted $10,000 bail and was released around 3:30 a.m. Friday.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 5.
The 33-year-old averaged 18.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.0 assists in nine seasons with Houston, the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks. He was an All-Star in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He was waived by the Grizzlies in 2009.
What "an" idiot. Normally I'm not a grammar nazi, but the irony was too much...
