HD sound is for gots
o me again
I been busy lately and haven't had time to buy a ps3. I been planning to but gave it a 2nd thought as to buy it or not. See I have a surround sound system that sounds great for being old. Down side is NO HDMI or comp hook ups. Just plain AV.
So here's the thing. I'm deciding if I should buy a ps3 and hook it up some how to my old system to enjoy the movies/games with surround sound.
or
Buy a blu ray surround sound system and sacrifice the games for tru HD sound?
I would love to buy the ps3 instead since I have a surround ..but like i said it's dated. I don't even know if it's possible to hook up a ps3 via AV cables(never seen the back of a ps3) So here is my questions one is it possible ps3 to av?
and if it is is it worth it? Can you tell the diff between HD and non HD sound?
You can connect your PS3 through component video cables, and use the TOSLINK optical port to play true surround sound.
You'd be using the "DIGITAL OUT" for sound (providing your surround system has this port) and "AV MULTI OUT" for video.
Yes there is a difference between HD lossless audio, i.e. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and the old audio codec’s, DTS and Dolby Digital.
But the difference isn't that great and if I had to choose, games are way better then getting better audio.
umm babe ur surround sound is awesome when i pitb
