Tiago Splitter and the dust on your boxscore
    by Timothy Varner
    48 Minutes of

Fabricio Oberto’s retirement gave Spurs fans an opportunity to voice appreciation for a basketball player who made his career by simply “knowing how to play.” Tiago Splitter possesses more raw talent than Fabricio Oberto, but it’s his intuitive, Oberto-like feel for the game that makes him a meaningful player for the Spurs.

Splitter is also a perfect case study for re-imagining the usefulness of the traditional box score.

Splitter has been very impressive on defense. I wonder how well he is going to be able to guard Pau.

    Eventual Nickname- Pau Stopper

When Manu came to into the league, he was just what the Spurs needed - a fearless closer with creativity who made the Spurs less predictable. Hopefully these flashes from Tiago are an indication that he will soon develop into what the Spurs need.

Tiago has already showed that he is not a normal rookie (pure potential), he is already schooled in the fundamentals of the game and seems to have a great IQ for the game.

It's hard not to like everything Tiago is bringing to the court.
One thing James Anderson injury is going to do is keep him from
hitting that rookie wall cuz of the 82 game season. Starting Tiago
will be inevitable But if he can do it without hitting the "rookie"
wall I'll be surprised but happy
