Meanwhile, Dirk in his play before the injury and his team's drop off in his abscence has shown that he is true top tier potential MVP. If he gets them back on a serious post all star break run sans Caron Butler he deserves it IMO.
I believe he will, and the Mavs are and will be still a damm good team and could still be a real force come playoff time.

The Mavs obviously will be back to a solid playoff team but I think the Butler injury might take away their status as a contender. He brought a swagger on the defensive side and without him they're back to the same old soft Mavs teams of the past. That's why they need to get a guy like Jackson or Wallace to replace the toughness that he brought.
Need a proctologist man? I can find one to refer you to as you need it all the time seemingly.

LAL looking forward to a similar ass kicking again by SAS in a few weeks - at least Mavs proved they could beat the Spurs this year (but Lakers have not yet in their embarrasing lay down on Dec 28)?

they are hurting right now for sure, but of course, they will be better when dirk gets back.
they sure are being careful with him.
that being said, they will not be what they were before butler got hurt. thats what really screwed them. they keep talking about that roddy kid, but i think they are not gonna get out of him what they need, and surely not what butler gave them.
even with dirk back, if taint lick dont pull a rabbit out of a hat before the deadline, they are screwed.
it is honestly not out of the question that we might be seeing them struggle to even make the post season.

The Mavs need to find a #2 scoring option. Don't know if that guy is currently on the roster. Cuban probably needs to make a trade.
