A couple of years ago, Andrea Bynum would have been the clear favorite. Then again, with the way his body is declining and with how Hibbert has improved immensely, Hibbert has already surpassed the Glass.

If you look at the numbers:

Hibbert's 15 and 9 averages this year are almost identical to Bynum's 15 and 8 numbers from last year.

Then again, Hibbert has played more games than the Glass despite the fact that the Glass entered the league a full season ahead of him.

To add insult to injury, Hibbert hasn't played in a single playoff game in his entire career.

    To date:

    Hibbert: 171 Games
    Bynum: 150 Games

    Another troll thread.

There's a difference between putting up 15 and 9 on a bad team and doing it on a championship team with two other talented big men.

All Glass has to do is wait for the ball as Pau or Odom gets double-teamed. Add Bryant into the equation and Bynum will have a virtually uncontested shot almost every time.

The fact the Lakers can theoretically trot out a frontcourt of Odom/Gasol/Bynum is ridiculous in terms of size and length - and they all have good athleticism.

    Spur fan is obviously jealous.

I know Hibbert dumped on Duncan earlier this year, just like he did to Pau last season.

Bynum, however, made Hibbert look like a clueless D-leaguer when they matched up.

Chubby short dude with no ACLs, a 42 year old and a loser that's softer than Bonner on his worst day

Good luck defending Pau when Timmy is forced to match up with Bynum.

I still rather have those 3 than Oberto and Kurt Thomas.

    And, Pau looks dead.

And any sane person would take Bynum over all of them.

    And, Pau looks dead.
Timmy looks real ing old out there and I'd imagine he would drop dead on the court if were playing the kind of minutes Pau is fielding.

Tim is old. And we'll see how good will Pau be in 4 years.

More curious to how many championships Pau has in 4 years. Odds are, more than Duncan.

The great thing about having a 23 year old with 20/10 potential is you can trade a guy like Pau when he gets old. Whereas when Duncan retires, the franchise is toast.

Hibbert's looking pretty good this year and I gladly give him his props because he deserves it. I didn't think he had it in him but he's very capable of being a legit center at this level.

But the real question is does blindly evaluating stats = better?

    The answer is always no.

Hibbert is a bit taller but Bynum is wider, stronger and heavier. That matters for the Lakers because they need that type of center who can't be pushed around down low to offset the imbalance Pau Gasol typically delivers.

Having two 7 foot waifs in the middle would not be ideal which is why Bynum gets the nod over Hibbert.

Stats are irrelevant here, they're both in completely different situations..

If they're healthy, I would go with Bynum..other than passing, he's better at everything..his post moves are a lot more advanced, he's a slightly better defensive player, he's a better rebounder, he has the physical advantages everywhere..

The question is obviously whether Bynum's advantage over Hibbert negates the fact that he's almost guaranteed to miss a large portion of the regular season, and be physically limited during the playoffs..I would say that no, they don't negate it, so the safe bet would be Hibbert..

Last I checked, Bynum is listed at 285 while Hibbert is 278. A seven-pound difference is irrelevant when you talk about seven-footers.

I'm not going to be bias. But I'd honestly take Roy Hibbert. Now I'll be honest, Andrew Bynum's the better player, I'm not trying to say he's not. But Hibbert's a good athlete, has the midrange in his arsenal now, and is a legit NBA center. I'd be too worried about Bynum getting hurt, if I had the guarantee that neither would get injured I'd take him. But Hibbert's a safer option and he's still a solid player.
