when the does roddy get back?
mavs been playing mediocre defense the last couple of games. they were only playing good for stretches. they only won that jazz game because of their tremendous start, but the rest of the game had 08/09 written all over it again...a year they beat the spurs on one night and lost to the timberwolves on the next night, at home...
they are just very inconsistent since 07/08. they only won the 12 games because of dirks greatness. he just shot 50% last night (he shot 59% during the streak), and that's why we lost. we still need a second star-caliber player on our team besides dirk. he can't carry the load offensively every night. i mean he does at the moment, but it won't work the playoffs. teams will either double team him and let the rest of the mavs fail, or they will shut down butler, terry and marion and let dirk get his 30+ points. both variants will be effective, because the mavs are just not talented enough offensively. it's just a bunch of streaky jump shooters and dirk.
even if we play great defense in the playoffs, dirk still needs to go 12-14 from the field for us to win a game...

Hopefully Roddy can improve on the flashes he showed last year but even if he doesn't, it is less minutes for JJ and that should improve the team. Addition by subtraction imo
