Tony Parker has always used the spin move but over the last few weeks, he's turning into the NBA's version of Dwight Freeney. He must have worked on it over the summer because he's using the spin move at his top speed and he is still able to keep his body (and the ball) under control. TP has gone from using the move a couple times a month to a couple times a game.

Quality move and it's a nice counter against opponents who are guessing he's going to use his floater.

That spin move in the open court that lead to the RJ missed alley-oops was on a dime.

His spin move can be seen at the one minute mark of the video. Pretty damn slick addition to the ol' repertoire.

Edit to add: Spin move on the next highlight as well

Ya know what, I was talking with my bro tonight about TP. And the first thing he and others want to talk about when it comes to Parker, is his speed. But I think that's highly overrated.

Not that he's not fast, because no doubt he is, but he's not as fast and quick as a lot of players in the NBA's elite. What he is, is, comparable -- but his strength at that comparable speed is highly underrated.

Parker hits seams that a lot of quick players do, but he's able to explode through contact better than most. What separates him to me, is his strength -- as he's able to absorb and power through contact to finish better than just about any player has at his size in NBA history.

Whether it's his spin move or his jump-stomps -- where he's able to use his body to take away angles or the strength of defenders -- the guy just has a strength about his game that is ridiculously underrated and effective.

    Big ups to Big Nuts.

Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins called a timeout after Parker's final shot in overtime, exasperated.

"What can you tell them?" Hollins said of Parker. "The guy's running down the court 900 miles an hour and spinning and all that stuff. What am I supposed to tell them? Stop him from spinning?

I never understood why he didn't use this move more often.

He could avoid so many offensive faults/TO ...

That was a nice one. He is great in this move with his amazing speed, good to see him doing it more often.

    This one is from last year I think, but awesome too;

Tony is playing better and better this season. He's back to his 2009 level when he was one of the best PG in the league.

Yeah I noticed some more of those spin moves. That missed ally-op with Jefferson could have been "ESPN Top 10" highlights there.

Last season he got rid of the tear-drop. This season he's brought back the tear-drop, added the spin move, and brought back the spontaneous 3-ball.

I still think he needs to get back with Chip and work on the midrange game. That's something he's going to be forced into come playoff time.

It is a great move. Maybe its not used more often because of the athleticism/coordination involved and it looks like it could wear your body down. Parker's ankles, feet, and health in general was more off than not last year.

Its also great to see Parker picking up steals in his game nowadays. That was one of the main things he improved upon in the summer in addition to his health.

Good call. However, before there was Freeney, there was this guy kickin' it ol' school:
