Damn that's horrible. I really feel for you man...especially if your mom and you were really close. My mom and I were really close until 2 years ago on Christmas Eve 2008 when she got in an accident and met her boyfriend she's been with ever since at some auto sales shop. Ever since then my mom and I have been disjointed from each other since she spends the vast majority of her time she's not at work ing him.

If you ever need to talk you're not alone. I lost my grandma at Christmas and she was a mother to me. Raise me and loved me. Things are tough, but you're never alone.

Thanks, everyone. Mom was 88, and had been living alone since my dad passed three years ago. Yes, we were close, and spoke on the phone just about every day. I last spoke to her Thursday evening, and she sounded well and happy. We were planning for me to visit next month, and my sister and son were planning to be there at the same time.
The toughest thing so far has been notifying the rest of the family. My sister is on her way there now, and we'll make further arrangements tomorrow.
