If Pop insists on the B&B twins, how about putting in Splitter in there as well for D? So you'd have Splitter at 5, Blair at 4, Bonner at 3...then fill the rest with Neal/Hill/Manu/Parker.

Yeah, Bonner can't guard a 3, but if you have Splits defending the rim, a penetration by 3 might be containable. Bonner just has to slow down the opposing 3 enough for Splits to recover. And Bonner plays like a 3 on the offense anyways (OK, a 3 that doesn't drive).

BTW even RJ is a better Power forward than Bonner, he defends and rebounds against PF better, and offense it's not even close. So why is bonner still playing ? , you have to ask Pop that.

Point here is why is Bonner playing a must?. the solution is not to find him a role he can play but to simply bench him. This is not rocket science

I think no one but Pop knows why the Bonner/Blair pairing keeps on going...it's one of the big mysteries of the universe, like what exactly is that white stuff in twinkies?

But back to the original thought. One of the bigger problems of B&B is that there is absolutely no interior D. You can offset that by having a defensive big in there. Both Duncan and Dyess qualifies, but Splits is probably the quickest defensive big the Spurs have at the moment. So he'd be much better at help defense at the rim.

Just trying to think of ways to make lemonade out of lemon here...on the other hand, it's not like Pop gives a about what anyone might think...especially the idiot fans...

FYI here are the stats for the 3 players for the last 10 games ( a good relevant sample) , Splitter out rebounds Blair (his strength) and Outscores Bonner (his strength) and we all know Splitter is by far the best defender among the three, Yet there is a possiblity Splitter will be benched by Pop in the playoffs over the two. Go figure ??
