I think there is a good chance this was more of a case of lazy than lie. They probably simply didn't have any footage of the thing.

    Maybe...

Nevertheless, you guys don't need to worry about Chinese military forces at all. They are more interested in making money these days, not going into a war.

Kind of troubling through when a local general also owns a large company that you might want to compete with.

I am definitely not worried that two countries that do hundreds of billions of dollars worth of trade will get into a war. That will NOT happen.

I do worry that blurring the government/private line will be a corrupting influence that ultimately hurts the Chinese people, simply because that corruption keeps fair compe ion out.

Such blurring happens everywhere, but to really raise people's standard of living you need a strong rule of law to fight the corruption that results. That is one of modern China's biggest drawbacks, in my opinion.

Corruption will eventually cap standards of living for people if not addressed, and that holds true for many other "up and coming" countries.

    Agreed.

Unfortunately the corruption could not be fixed in the forseable future in China imo, because it would take down most (if not all) Chinese leadership from the very top.

As for the war between US and China, it will not happen, not because of the trade relation, but the fact that most family members of the generals live in the US with the money they stole from the Chinese people.
