It doesn't require a scarf, a short billed beanie turned to the back or side, skinny jeans, or a neck beard like the iphone. That's a plus.

Or you can buy two extra batteries with a charger for ~$15 on eBay.

Or buy a phone that actually can make it through a day without having to be charged and save the time, hassle and money involved with buying extra batteries.

4G eats batteries, if you want 4G expect short life.

I heard the Epic doesn't have it as bad as the Evo does. I'm sure Sly can gives us some insight into that.

So a $200 phone + a $2000 contract is fine, but $15 for two extra batteries is a lot of money?

My iPhone 3G had marginally better battery life than my Evo does, and that's with a smaller screen, slower connection speed, and slower processor. The iPhone 4 -- from what I've used of it, does have slightly better battery life, but it's in the neighborhood of 2-3 hours, and still isn't enough to go a full day on with how much I use my phone. Also, when the battery in your iPhone does start failing (usually it becomes less effective after 12 to 18 months or so), there's no going back. The usability of your phone will just be reduced.

So, I guess it's just me, but I'd rather have options available to me than to be constrained by the "convenience" of inflexibility. I guess that's why I bought an Android phone. I was unaware that a 5 second swap and a 45 second power-on process cons uted a massive amount of time and hassle.

Btw, let me know when your iPhone 4 can tether to a laptop and download programs at 9 mbps.

You may not have to have a beanie and scarf to get an Evo but you definitely have to get a massive inferiority complex that causes you to talk about the iPhone 4 when no one else is talking about it, and talk about how much better your Evo is, even when no one is comparing the two.

Besides CH, I'm already on record saying that I have nothing against Android phones, it's just that if I were to go Android and choose which carrier I can get and went with Sprint, then I'd get the Epic.

But contrary to what the other carriers say about AT&T, in San Antonio, I've always had better service with AT&T than I ever had with Sprint. I dropped way more calls with Sprint than I have with AT&T, especially in the hilly areas where I went to school and where my friends lived.

So in conclusion OP, Sprint service in San Antonio is inferior (if you live here) , but if you must stay with Sprint, don't get an Evo, get an Epic. It does everything the Evo does, but better. There really shouldn't be any reason to get an Evo these days, not with Android phones out that are already better, and more on the way.

yea 4g drains the battery like crazy, but there is an app called juice defender. Does a pretty good job of saving battery I recommend it to anyone.

And that is why Li-ion batteries suck. They all only last so long. The profit margin on replacement batteries must be unreal.

I didn't bring up the iPhone. In fact, I think that Evo vs Epic is much more relevant. But a lot of people I know that have the Evo love to try and trash my phone with no provocation other than I got a text or email and was checking it. So I let them talk while I watch Netflix or Hulu or make a phone cal and then stream data at the same time.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. That's like raising your eyebrows and revving your engine next to a cop at a stoplight, then telling him he's ridiculous for thinking that you wanted to race because you didn't spell it out in words. You quite literally bring up the iPhone in almost every thread possible, including the Nook Color thread, so I don't know where you get off telling me that I'm the one with the inferiority complex.

    MannyIsGod

If most of my textbooks were offered in ebook format I'd probably get one.
Definitely do the same here. I'd be even better if I could just get it on my iPhone 4. I really don't need an e-reader when I got my phone.

Then again, the readers aren't very big, so it would be nice to carry it in my backpack as a bigger option than my phone. Since I have my phone, I don't need an iPad or any tablet for that matter.
Ah, hypocrisy, how obvious you are.
