I don't really buy that. There is such thing as southern hospitality which is not a myth.

I actually agree with this for the most part. The climate is warm. They don't have crazy heating and electric bills. They can work enough to live, then chill the rest of the time. They don't have to travel. They don't have to work to become multimillionaires because there is no incentive to become multimillionaires.
Warm weather breeds a more lax culture.

I think southern hospitality exists...if you're from the south or you live here or you're from America and you're visiting through. I don't think them southerners would be too hospitable to a family of Syrians traveling through the south.

I didn't say it was perfect or paradise. I think there is more to life than chilling. And the racial problems that still exist there certainly make for a less than ideal situation.
I only ask because, you know, New Yorkers really aren't an opinionated people. Only people who don't get out are.
