I'll be perfectly honestly, I haven't watched or read anything about the playoffs. I've spent the past two months coaching/recruiting in the most remote parts of China, where I've had no access to TV or the internet. Actually, I had to travel 80 miles to get internet access, but as it is I only have enough time to type this message before the signal cuts out again. I'm going to base this message off the assumption that Portland beat the Mavericks, and that the MFFL are demanding an explanation from me. Here we go...
Well, it's just one of those rare times when you run into a buzzsaw, and Portland was that buzzsaw. As some predicted, Gerald Wallace completely dominated the series. Also, we saw a superstar in the making, Lamarcus Aldridge, outplay our own Dirk Nowitzki. Every so often you run into a buzzsaw, and this just happened to be our year.
It's a shame too, because I felt our team was a good matchup for the Lakers. We never could have beaten them in a series, but we could have exited in the second round with our heads held high, taking LA to 6 or 7 games. Oh well. I'm sure Portland/LA will be a great 2nd round battle.
We have lots of plans to improve the team next year. There's bullet points that we have, and if those bullet points are met, those bullet points will be executed. Always remember that before any deal may or may not go down, that we still love our team and that silence isn't inactivity.
Well Mavs fans, enjoy the offseason. And enjoy another Lakers/Celtics Finals showdown, those are always instant classics!
