It's gotta be VERY frustrating to play against the Spurs =P
Not sure if he's complementing the Spurs, but he seemed very bitter after the loss. Here's what he said:
"They’re a very frustrating team to play,” Lee said. “I don’t go out there feeling like they’re a better team than us. When you play the Lakers you look at their size and say it’s going to be a tough game. I feel like we match up well with the Spurs. I feel like they’re a beatable team, especially in this building. And just the way they execute and the way they take advantage of any little mistake you make, it’s like a boring way to play but it’s so effective. There’s a reason why their record is what it is."

No, he's not complimenting the spurs. This is pure speculation but I'd imagine he might still be sour about RJ clowning him a month ago. He also probably vastly underrates how good our back court is compared to their back court of ellis/curry.
LOL, thanks for pointing out the spelling error. I'm too sleepy to even type correctly right now![]()
^ lol you a member of a media? Way to stretch things.
I think it's a true thing to say. You think teams are scared of Blair as our center and Bonner as our second big?
Our backcourt is great, but there are tons of great backcourts in the NBA that every team sees night in and night out. No one looks at TP/Manu and says "ohnoez we're ed!", but as well as a lot of teams match up they still get beat because of their craftiness.
Credit the Spurs for making it work the way it has (so far), and that's what Lee is doing.
It's terribly boring having 4 les David...
It must've been a lot more exciting getting RJ's nuts in his mouth. Much more exciting way to lose. I mean play.
David Lee's lifetime NBA record (approx.): 160-294 0.352
Tim Duncan's lifetime NBA record (approx.): 757-322 .701
Boring is good.
if the spurs are so beatable, why are they 38-7?
Clearly, Manu is camped out in David Lee's head, pump faking and flopping and giving David sweet nightmares.
But seriously, what a big wuss. His comments show a total neanderthal way to approach the game. As if being better coached and smarter is somehow less legitimate.
I guess boring is the new exciting if that makes any sense.
Lee still hasn't recovered from the abuse that he took from RJ, LMAO.
rofl sensitive Spur fans taking every neutral thing said and spinning it as something negative against our precious team.
Can't see compliments for what they are ftl.
Taking advatage of your opponents mistakes is a boring way to play???![]()
Saw this comment and thought is Lee stupid or something? But I suppose he could just be butthurt.![]()
David Lee thought exciting was taking his shirt off and doing a cartwheel during a dunk comp. His opinion means little.
Eh, I suspect what he was trying to get it is that on paper the Spurs do not look overwhelmingly talented and appear potentially beatable. But when you get on the court they just grind you down with execution. It's a similar sentiment that has been expressed by a lot of different players. I'm trying to remember which big said something along the lines of TD is on half a leg, but when you actually play him he basically beats the out of you all game.
Just poorly worded and expressed on Lee's part. (giving him the benefit of the doubt that is)
That was a backhanded compliment at its best.
It's like telling your girl "I love you, ."
I am still failing to see anything negative or untrue in that quote. I'm starting to think you guys all have some kind of depressive disorder or something, taking everything said as an insult![]()
I'm not insulted dude. It's just more fun to bring light upon RJ dunking his nuts in Lee's mouth.
Glad to know he admires our team anyway.
Who is Lee and what has he done?
Lee hasn't caught up with the latest narrative in the media. Spurs are no longer boring. Now they are a run and gun team that doesn't play defense or feature Duncan. Real Spur fans know both narratives are wrong.
I feel like we match up well with the Spurs.
^^^^^^^^ Since when was that? They get blown out when the play the Spurs every time, worse than last night earlier this year. How the is that matching up well?
