There's no better way to put this: Sammy Hagar believes his mind was taken over by aliens. Years ago, before he played with Van Halen or Montrose, before he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the American singer claims extra-terrestrials tapped into his consciousness in the California foothills. "I know there's something out there," he explained, "and someday they'll come."
Hagar's intergalactic theories have come to light with his new memoirs, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock, written with Joel Selvin. "I was lying in bed one night ... dreaming," he recalls in the book. "I saw a ship and two creatures inside of this ship. I couldn't see their faces. I just knew that there were two intelligent creatures, sitting up in a craft in the Lytle Creek forest area about twelve miles away in the foothills above Fontana. And they were connected to me, tapped into my mind through some kind of mysterious wireless connection."
In a new interview with MTV Hive, Hagar said he wanted to write a lot more about UFOs, but Selvin "talked [him] out of it". "He'd be like, 'Aw, people don't want to hear that '." But Hagar "could write a whole book just devoted to [aliens]," he said. "I love it, man. I'm into it deep."
Although Hagar's vision of an alien spaceship was part of a dream, he insists he was seeing something real. "[It] friggin' happened," the 63-year-old explained. "Aliens were plugged into me ... Either a download or an upload. They were tapped into my brain and the knowledge was transferred back and forth. I could see them and everything while it was happening ... Like an experiment: '[Let's] see what this guy knows'."
Nor was this his first close encounter. When he was four years old, he claims, he saw something he didn't include in his book. "I saw what I considered to be, well, at the time I thought it was a car with no wheels," he said. We lived out in the country and I saw this thing floating across a field, creating this big dust storm. I threw rocks at it and . And I don't know what happened after that." Asked if he thinks he "blacked out", Hagar replied: "I guess. I just have no memory of it. And that wasn't a dream. It was during daylight."
Hagar's current project is the supergroup Chickenfoot, with Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, and Red Hot Chili Pepper drummer Chad Smith.
I guess aliens like hard rock!![]()
I think he's right.
rofl no doubt judyntx is a huge Van Haggar fan.
That was the last time VH was any good. Touring with Phyllis Diller fronting the band, Eddie's kid on bass, canned Michael Anthony vocals on tour because no one in the band can sing the high harmonies, and a late stage alcoholic Eddie did nothing for their legacy.

I liked OU812 but his started to come out on F.U.C.K. album
It's not that far out there, I think Carlos Santana was also abducted by aliens. Or was he sexually abused? I don't recall.
VH done goofed when they kicked Michael Anthony out. And is a pretty sweet album.
DLR looks more like the crypt keeper or a young, longhaired Al Davis, imo
I admit, I like the first three albums of van hagar, even if Sammy is a flat out horrible stage performer and a chick repellent.
He's a bit stiff on stage, but I think any major rocker is anything BUT a chick repellent. He's got a nice looking wife, a fantastic casa in Cabo San Lucas, his own Tequila label, owns a great club, and is in the Rock and Roll HOF. He can record what he wants when he wants, and tour when he wants to.
Contrast that with Roth, who has to either a) put up with Eddies , or b) go back to his post solo career career of being an EMT.
that's a good point.
there are some ugly ass rockers that have some hot chicks.
big Haggar fan huh.
Hagar will be on Jim Rome's radio show in 30 minutes, I think live in the studio.
Hope that aliens get mentioned somewhere in that interview.
Sammy verified the alien experience on the show.
lol
Dang DLR looks like crap...
I had a dream once where I was abducted by aliens
I hope it was just a dream![]()
There was a legit comparison/rivalry in 1985 when Sammy joined the band, but at this point, Sammy wins hands down. DLR is just sad. He would have no music career in the 21st century if Eddie didn't need someone to boss around.
The best live VH show possible right now is the Van Hagar lineup. It'll probably never play together again, though.
Right now DLR looks like he's 90.
The best VH live show ever had to be early 80s VH. Not really even an argument.
