Gregg Popovich on Tiago Splitter:
"Tiago is going to give you that every night. He's going to bust his butt to rebound and play defense. He's going to give you that grunt that every team needs and every coach loves."

Won't be easy but we can definitely win this!
Next 4 games will show some serious resilience if we can gut them out without Timmy!
That quote from Pop is interesting, we'll have to see if that holds up till the playoffs.
Yay, a late game - NOT. Freaking hate these 9:30pm CDT games.
Same.
Game starts at 10:30 PM for me.
The Spurs better win. I'm not for waiting half a day to watch them lose.
Late? Here in Brazil is just 11:30PM
thats late!
Fire test to Tiago tonight against Nene
Big one here. Time to start holding the fort without Tim.
Game will be live on ESPN here in Brazil
do you think the spurs can win this game?
Yep. I dont see why not.
Not having Duncan is a bad thing but it shouldn't matter too much that they cant win without him. Well at least to teams like the Nuggets and the Hawks.

Special guest at Spurs shootaround in Denver: Ex Cavs coach Mike Brown. Even Danny Green came over to say o.
The Spurs have plenty of weapons, even without Timmy...they should win this game without too much difficulty.
Denver has a lot of weapons, too, and is playing solid ball right now.
I think the Spurs will be able to hang, but I expect it to be a tough game.
I guess only time will tell.

Manu says loss of Melo/Billups makes Nuggets "more unpredictable." Said team had to study Denver more than in previous meetings. #spurs
This should be a really fun game. Neither team has any tape on anybody. The Lakers and Suns set the record for scoring last night. The Spurs and Nuggs could top that in regulation.
This will be a tough game. Denver is playing great.
why are messina and brown coming? can the spurs hire any of them now as assistants? how many assistant coaches can team have....
i sure like mike brown for his defensive schemes....
Just win, baby!![]()
Denver is a tough matchup for the Spurs defensively. They have a lot of long bodies that can score. The good news is that the Nuggets aren't that great defensively (they allow the most ppg of any WC playoff team). The Spurs will have to play above par team D and uptempo offense to win this game. Tony and Manu will both have to have big games and Blair/McDyess/Splitter will have to play focused defense to make up for Duncan's absence. RJ, Hill or Neal will have to be an X factor.
Should be a fun game to watch.
as everyone else, i wanna see Splitter play and play well hopefully. it'll be interesting to see how tired he gets since he's not really even in game shape and he's playing at a higher al ude. he's also playing against a physical front line. it'll be interesting to see how he handles himself, if he gets intimidated or not. it's definitely an opportunity for him to make a statement.
Splitter is well out of game shape. The al ude should give him some problems also. Not sure how many minutes he can handle at the moment. Hopefully around 25. He played that last game and was clearly fatigued leading to missed layups and him slowly getting back on D. Throwing him out there for anymore then that right off the bat isn't the right thing to do for him or the team.
