After Game 4, in which Memphis turned a two-point halftime deficit into a runaway win, veteran center Antonio McDyess came close to questioning the Spurs’ collective manhood, saying they were “playing like wussies.”

Dice is that kind of player.

It's gut check time for the Spurs. After last season's sweep , to get beat down by memphis inlcuding through the media as if they never belonged is just shamefull. Dice is spot on. Lets see what they made of.

Dice has a point, it wasn't hard to tell that spurs gave up in the third.

McDyess is playing with lots of balls...
He's the only one I see battling tooth and nail on every possession whether its offense or defense...

Dejuan Blair gets an honerable mention just for the effortl he's been putting in whether he gets stats or not...

    So straighten out...

Every other Spurs player is playing with less heart. Period.

Even Gary Neal is pulling a Roger Mason.

McDyess has big balls on a team full of nutless wonders......

    ...fishing time.....

Memphis players behavior just sicken me.

It's ok to be classy, but come on, man up guys!!!!

Dice has played about one solid half of defense in this series. The whole team needs to be called out.

good for Dice. But he has sucked this series too. His automatic midrange has not been dropping unexplicably.

NOBODY has been playing well. Save for Manu's play in game 2 everyone's play has been disgusting and pussy.

    Dice >>>>>>>>>>>

I don't recall anyone on the Spurs team saying something like this, it's usually kept in-house or not even said at all. It's refreshing.

I think the full quote was "We're playing like wussies." which includes himself.

Hopefully they'll get mad and win one tonight.

is this the same dice with 8 points 4 rebounds through the first 3 games .....
is this the same dice who is getting dominated down low .....
is this the same dice who misses easy lay ups .....

Stats and toughness don't necessarily correlate.

Leave it to a classless ing Laker fan to bash Antonio McDyess.

Dice got called for a lot of fouls, because he was playing agressive, physical defense. And his shot hasn't been falling. It happens. But at least he's been playing like a warrior, and with some sense of urgency. He can't do anything about the miles he has on his body, but he can do something about the effort he gives. Even if he loses, he can hold his head up. People like you can't do that, even when you win.

Take a hint. This thread wasn't about box scores. It's about effort, and playing like a man. Or am I giving you too much credit by assuming that you might be able to understand those things?

At this point I just want to see Antonio McDyess get very physical down low. Send Memphis a message with hard fouls. The Spurs have been playing soft in comparison, but if they themselves started playing physical they could even the playing field. I swear the NBA as a league has become extremely soft. Partly because the administration threatens with suspensions. I miss the days of the NBA where players could stand up for themselves at least and not have to worry about the next game.
If he's going to draw fouls just for playing defense, he may as well earn them and get his moneys worth.

The Spurs have been atrocious since Dice was inserted into the starting line-up--FACT. In addition to providing little-to-nothing on the floor, he's become emotionally unstable during games. Sad to see, tbh.

Let me explain something to you, lakerfan.

Dice should have been the 3rd big coming off the bench like his role in Detroit, a role he has stated he prefers.

He's too old to be a starter on a championship contender. If Popovich wasn't such a collosal ing bag not giving Splitter a role on the team this year Dice wouldn't be in the position of having all this weight and responsibility being thrust on him and therefore wouldn't be "unstable".

I agree. It's not Dice's fault, just like it's not Bonner's fault. Pop is to blame for this team's failures. Transitioning to Suns-ball, not developing Splitter, playing Manu in Game 82, etc...he's the reason SA was a fool's gold team all year.
