...Charles sitting there with a silly ass look on his face like he doesn't understand the difference between collective vs individual talent. Gregg schooled them boys and Kenny looking cross-eyed while Barkley is looking down at his notes....

and this was Gregg Anthony's first time on their set... gotdam...

Charles Barkley is an intellectual light-weight compared to Gregg Anthony...got dam it's not even close...

Ever since his ESPN days Anthony has always been getting into bitter arguments. He has a tendency to get snide when he disagrees. It can be entertaining sometimes.

That's one interpretation. The other is he's a jackass. You can bet (oh wait, maybe you can't) that he won't be back on again. You can tell Charles hates him.

Anthony said talent isn't what wins in the playoffs which is about as dumb as it comes. Last time I checked the only contenders are loaded with talent.

he's a jackass only to those use to no real analysis...For someone who's played and lost as much as he has, Barkley spews no real intellect on the game itself.

and as for your view that talent wins in the play-offs... just look at Lebron and the Cavs last year...or even look at Kobe's 6-24 that you guys are so quick to bring to the table....

the argument was the difference between individual talent vs working together collectively...so your argument like Barkley's is silly...

Gregg owned them repeatedly last night....and it was about time someone did...those two s don't know didly squat...although Kenny tries at times to sound intellectual....and when he does Barkley gives him grief because of it...Barkley is nothing but a glorified Gary Payton when it comes to commentating he's dumber than a ing box of rocks...

    Greg, not Gregg.

Personally I like Greg Anthony. I hope he's a regular contributor to Inside the NBA in the future.

Ok if talent doesn't matter, the Lakers can just ship out Bynum and Gasol for Mozgov and Aaron Grey. It's all a matter of working together collectively right?

And Charles knows basketball. He doesn't try to sound analytical, he just says what he thinks. Most of the time, he's right. He knows the game.

Hard to believe a Lakers fan is arguing about talent not being what wins championships. It wasn't until Pau came over that the Lakers could contend.

Anthony's point had a lot of weight, and his argument was better than that of Kenny/Chuck, they just ganged up against him. Talent matters to a certain extent, you want as much of it as you can get but at some point, theres nothing a team can do as far as adding talent. At a point, execution and skill supercedes talent and athleticism. You might be able to add two inches to your vert, but that won't make you a beast on the post or make you a great defender.

Adding talent like DWade, CP3, D12, Rose, Lebron, Westbrook, Durant.. that doesn't just happen. It takes a lot of breaks, and is the exception not the rule. Anthony was making the point that the Pacers players have to improve and must make that their focus (one the team and individuals must strive for together), and the truth is that is all that the players can do. They can't make a star force a trade there, or hope a FA signs there.

And Kenny saying Paul George, the Pacers 8th man, could start on Milwaukee was humorous. Skiles wouldn't let the rook off the pine. Milwaukee would have been a lot better this year with a healthy Bogut and Jennings, and keep in mind Redd didn't play sans five meaningless games at the end of the year. Salmons struggled, Gooden was injured a lot, and the result was an underachieving season. Next year with the same team Milwaukee could easily be in contention for a top 5 seed.
